VA 100% but still in Reserves
Hello, advice needed pls. I am 100% P&T since 2012 and am in the Reserves. I am going on a mission for 9 months this year and so will be Active Duty for those 9 months (able to see military docs) I am pretty sure I have sleep apnea but it has never been diagnosed. Should I get diagnosed with ANYTHING while on 9 month active duty or is that playing with fire? In addition, I was diagnosed with GERD while serving but my GERD claim was denied. Should I see a military doc while active about this so it can get documented? I am wanting to have sleep apnea and GERD documented just in case the VA ever decreases my 100% I am very paranoid about the VA taki…

Veterans Evaluation Services C&P
I filed a claim for GERD, Stomach Ulcer and Chronic Sinusitis in March this year 2024 I had my C&P exam in April for all three. My claim went from decision made and preparation for notification to scheduling me for a PHONE appointment for a records review with another C&P doctor. What could this mean?

Should I file PACT Act, Depressed Mood, Coronary Artery Disease, Spine/Neck
Since 2015 when I retired I've been 80% which includes 60% Chronic Fatigue, 30% Insomnia, 10% Hemorrhoids. My VA psychiatrist (who happens to also be the Hospital Chief of Staff) has strongly advised me multiple times to file for a service connection under the PACT Act. I've strongly disagreed with him since I do not see a PACT Act connection (other than possibly using DEET and as supply troop regularly disposing of toxic substances - none identified in the PACT Act). He, my psychiatrist has told me that it would likely get approved and I should say that toxin exposure has exacerbated my behavioral health issues. I do not feel comfortable filing under the PACT Act ho…

Fast HLR
HiYa! I had a HLR reviewer give me a call today. I didn't get a message to schedule it or anything. It was for GERD and Sleep Apnea. He explained the process and then I told him my concerns. He listened and said he would review the exams and records and see if there was a duty-to-assist error. Otherwise, I will need to file a supplemental claim. I filed the HLR 13 days ago and resubmitted the hardship request form also. I'm optimistic it will go well. 😁

DBQ added 8 months later?
Morning folks, Eight months ago I had a C&P exam for SC Miniere's disease, and am following it's progress on va.gov. This morning I noticed they added a new DBQ dated July 13th, 2024. I guess under any other circumstances a new DBQ would be good news, but 8 months AFTER my C&P exam? Questions: Does this late DBQ sound legit? Does anyone know how to interpret all these numbers, letters..., associated with a DBQ; is there a "cheat sheet"? I already know there are certain forms for each DBQ, Mental, Organs, Spine.., but here is my new DBQ(first million numbers and letters omitted ) 4_1_DBQ_1015_1 …

VA Rated 60% Depression BUT
Hello. The VA rated me 60% depression and part of my VA claim process was to see a psychiatrist. She talked to me for about 1 hour and I guess submitted her eval. I don't think I am 60%. I am sure I'm at about 30% Thing is I haven't seen a psychiatrist for about 2-3 years because they make me nervous and extremely uncomfortable. Getting the nerves to go again though. I haven't taken my psych meds or seen psychologist or psychiatrist for 2-3 years and have been self dealing with my depression and anxiety and night terrors. (I never go to VA doctors, I only go to civilian docs) How bad does this look in eyes of VA if they find out? What can they…

Are you aware 38 CFR Chapter 4 is being updated frequently?
I had occasion today to look up 38 CFR Chapter 4 which is the Disability Listing Schedule. The first time I searched I came up with a version updated 7/1/2024. About an hour later, I went back to my search to download the version. By then the update was changed to 7/17/2024. My suggestion is to PACACT claimants to look through the listing of diagnosis. If you do not know what the diagnosis is or if you are comparing to possible PACACT exposures, look up the "diagnosis" for getting a list of symptoms. You may have symptoms of a condition you were not aware was service connectable. I will be doing that for myself over the next couple of weeks. Will post …
