  1. Wadduppp, wings? Have you gotten an answer to your claim? I know it's a winner, just s I know you could win retro on SSDI but that's another story. pr
  2. Berta - I think you meant VSM and not VBM.
  3. otey2171: you are currently 70% but being paid at the 100% rate, due to TDIU, so you are not schedularly rated 100%, which is what is needed for an inferred claim for A&A and/or housebound. If you have an 1151 claim I would certainly pursue it. pr
  4. Carla, Ruby, Jerry and anyone else interested - how about some time within the next 2-4 wks. I'll be heading north, from southern GA, around 5/13 and won't be back this way for a few months. pr
  5. Personally, I think you could get the EED, if you can prove that the VA had the correct address and failed to send your notices to it. The VA often sends mail to "out of date addresses" due to their personnel being to lazy to check for the current address of record. The VA is currently sending my notices to an old address, even though I hand delivered my address changes and have date stamped received copies of the same. You will need to verify what address it was sent to. The VA should have the undeliverable envelope in your c-file. jmo pr
  6. I think you could get an EED of 1987, for s/c, but probably at zero percent. unless you can prove medically, how bad it effected you. jmo pr
  7. Quint7: I don't believe the VCAA was enacted until around 2000, which means it's about 6 yrs to late, for you. jmo pr
  8. donews: you should apply for the housing grant and let the VA decide. jmo pr
  9. donews: never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, believe anything you are told via the 800 number. The VA's lowest grade personnel answer that line and don't have any real knowledge of the VA process. Always file for or make requests in writing cuz you can appeal any decision the VA makes. jmo pr
  10. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/04/re...abled_ohio.html pr
  11. Her eligibility date should be the effective date you became P&T. pr
  12. Carla, et al: No town but I'm off Rte 95, near the FL state line, in GA, and willing to travel 2-3 hrs, one way. I've met a number of you before and always welcome newbies. I'll be the fat, old, gray haired, VN vet, w/double pierced ears and I'll treat lunch but not your beverage of choice. I've learned my lesson on that! LOL pr
  13. I'm headed north and west in mid May, if anyone wants to meet for lunch before then? Carla, John, anyone else, et al???? pr
  14. Vicky - since you're receiving payment at the 100% rate I don't see any advantage to pursuing a schedular 100% rating for depression, unless you are housebound or in need of A&A. The VA generally considers it a moot issue because you are already receiving payment at the 100% rate. You can pursue the issue but it'll most likely be a long hard battle. jmo pr
  15. Tator: you say you're 70% but your bio to the left reads 100%. Which are you?? Or are you TDIU, meaning 70% but paid at the 100% rate?? If you're TDIU, I don't think the VA will raise you to 100% because the benefits are basically the same and therefore the VA considers the issue moot. jmo pr
  16. You should be 100% w/that gaf. pr
  17. tator - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! You're kidding, right? pr
  18. Just be thankful they spoke english, and it wasn't a call center, in India. Could it have been a call center, at a women's prison, in Ohio? Remember low bid wins. lol jmo pr
  19. We had one in VT that just before he retired processed a couple of friends (100%ers) claims for housebound and then approved them. Thought he'd help a few friends out as a parting gesture. A while back the guy heading up the VSC in NH, who'd been denying many claims, retired from the VA and is now an SO for, I think, the AL and is winning claims left and right. Of course he denied those same claimants while at the VA. pr
  20. No Mike, they just deny hoping you won't appeal or die before you win your claim. May be time to contact the WH again! Time to send a NOD. Remember you can appeal any decision made by any section of the VA. jmo pr
  21. It's inevitable, for all of us and as we age we'll lose more friends but I can honestly say I am saddened by his loss. I know Clark was a great friend, of veterans all over the USA. Recently we've lost two of the best!!!!! I'd always hoped to meet Alex and buy him a coffee on a trip, to DC, to the Wall. Unfortunately I never made it. Never put things off, for you may never get another chance. A heartfelt salute to you both, Clark & Alex!!!! pr
  22. I don't know, it was camouflaged and I couldn't see it. He also wore cammo to work, so you never knew if he was there . . . pr
  23. The problem is they are ony reviewing approved claims and not those disapproved, that would've been awarded "extraordinary" awards. Mine took 10yrs & 5 months and probably would've paid that much, except for their recovery of what I'd already been paid, while prosecuting my claim. Luckily, mine was decided at the BVA and not the RO, so I should be safe. pr
