  1. Appealing it is your best option - glad to see your going to do it,,you will just be on prifile while your in that process so life will be good. I have went through that whole pocess and it's a pain but use the judge advocate system. they will right the letters for you as they did for me. if your haveing issue with any doctor doing your examination use the umbuds man...caution here...the unbuds man is a very powerful induvidual in your process so use him/her with care and have your ducks in row..I used one and things happen swiftly and with vigor lol you wwill not get concuurent reciept with out 20yrs or having it combat related... every thing the VA rated should be on the MEB even if they say no rating or retainable! forght for that as will may need that in the future. You are your own best advicate in this process and you have to be ready to stand your ground as no one else will fight for you. the MEB process is an advisarial one and be prepared for them to tell you to just sign or that it's all you can get..they will say whatever to get the process over and you out of thier way. 8. I what was saying, is be honest...I do have bills pilliing up if he doesn't then don't say it, That applied to me but just giving an example of aresponse is all.
  9. SSDI is based on your income once you have been denied for ssdi you should automatically apply for full SS ... I too was denied ssdi then applied for full and was aproved. a social security agent told me before I started that I would probably be denied SSDI and to go stiaght for full SS.....I did 2 exams and was aproved easily.
  10. more than likely they will want new X-Rays MRI'sand such as they are not less than 3 months old. I had to repeat all my exray and they had me do it right after the examination and I did about 10 of them.
  11. the best response i have heard on the "how you are doing ? is this. I must not be doing to well if I am here, I have bills piling up and I havent slept well since I got this appointment this is exactly what I said and is exactly how I felt
  12. Back pay is based om VA filing date. not sure on your other question except to say it will take longer than you will like lol they are slowwww :(
  13. well it sound as if you have the symptoms of TBI and your getting looked at for it...once they have a proper diagnosis and you get some treatment if there is any. then you should have enough evidence to get it rated by the VA... half of the issue is being treated! they want to see that. make sure that if your using an outside Dr. that the records are giving to your VA PCP and he or she puts that info in your records.
  14. I have a paperless claimas well and since your C&P exams are done you should have no worries. it is at the C&P process where there can be issues one being they ask for your papr claim and since you have no paper it can cause a delay. but you are done and now waiting on your decision or additional info either way sounds like your on your way! :)
  15. Does any one have a clue on how long it takes when one gets to the rating section of one's claim? Does the amount of Disablilities affect the length of time? I have about 18+ diferent injurues being reviewed I am not sure if they going to clump some of them into one thing or not. I was told they recieved my C&P Exams on the 10th of july and I am now in the rating section of the over all rating process.
  16. I am in NC it took 18 months after service to get my C&P exam WOW now how long will it take to get a decision out of these folks? !! I don't think they get that we have to go through a lot with our finanances and struggle while waiting.. especialy folks like me that can't work due to our injuries.. that money and treatment isn't a Damn gift we earned it, all of us and it should be paid in a timely fashion...can I get an Amen on that !
  17. myocardial ischemia and Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) are one and the same...one can get this heart problem for many reasons myocardial ischaemia, is a disease characterized by ischaemia (reduced blood supply) of the heart muscle, usually due to coronary artery disease (atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries). Its risk increases with age, smoking, hypercholesterolaemia (high cholesterol levels), diabetes, and hypertension (high blood pressure), and is more common in men and those who have close relatives with ischaemic heart disease. Symptoms of stable ischaemic heart disease include angina (characteristic chest pain on exertion) and decreased exercise tolerance. Unstable IHD presents itself as chest pain or other symptoms at rest, or rapidly worsening angina. Diagnosis of IHD is with an electrocardiogram, blood tests (cardiac markers), cardiac stress testing or a coronary angiogram. Depending on the symptoms and risk, treatment may be with medication, percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty) or coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). It is the most common cause of death in most Western countries, and a major cause of hospital admissions.[1] There is limited evidence for population screening, but prevention (with a healthy diet and sometimes medication for diabetes, cholesterol and high blood pressure) is used both to prevent IHD and to decrease the risk of complications. The medical history distinguishes between various alternative causes for chest pain (such as dyspepsia, musculoskeletal pain, pulmonary embolism). As part of an assessment of the three main presentations of IHD, risk factors are addressed. These are the main causes of atherosclerosis (the disease process underlying IHD): age, male sex, hyperlipidaemia (high cholesterol and high fats in the blood), smoking, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, and the family history.[2] Hope that helped
  18. since you missed the dead line I am not sure if they will go back unless you fight it becuase of them not rating it...you should have filed another appeal but, wait for the Rating...so you have you illness on paper... then make the conection to the secondary symtoms, get them acknowledged and rated.. THEN go for unemplotability. or if your lucky they will do it in the rating process. Good Luck!
  19. I have asked my primary Dr to realese them I will find out thurs if he will do it ....he is a nice guy so I suspect he will do it for me. thank you for the info
  20. if you get it in your Direct deposit don't cash the check.. call them and let them know.. they may have messed up but they will fix it and want it back imdeiatly so be careful ok :)
  21. AHH well you have made a good point, thank you...not that I think any thing they could say would put me over the edge lol.. but I do see the need to be careful.
  22. I went to the VA to retrieve my mental health exam from my C&P, they clerk worte the Dr and this was the repsonse. The Dr said that she wouldn't release my mental health exam to me, she would only release it to my Primary care Dr and he can decide what to do.... Now someone correct me if I am wrong, But aren't those my personal information that I can acess at my leasure and can they really deny me acess to my own health records or put stipulations on it? Seems a bit odd to me and in fact kind of bothers me a lot that I can't see my own info with out supervision! Any thoughts or advice on this issue would be a big help Thank you all in advance, Sgt Emmons
