  1. John,

I have been granted 3 conditions from the VA that I did not apply for, Lol. I am 100% Total, not 100% for 1 condition. I was offered IU for PTSD alone a few years ago, but I did not take it. I opted to fight for the 100% Schedular instead. A good friend of mine died a few years ago, who was a Korea/Vietnam Vet who was 100% IU for his back but died of bad heart and had multiple Agent orange issues. Because he had the IU and died of something other then the IU condition and not protected by the 10 yr mark his wife lost everything and was not granted any of his checks when he died. I have seen her suffer and lose everything the last few years in her late 60s and have to go back to work. I did not want to put my wife thru all that. Plus I knew that I have so many health issues that are well documented and would be SC. I still have a long list of issues that will be granted, if I just get around to applying for them. After my current claim is complete, I am going to put in a claim to have my PTSD increased, and apply for SMC S. As you stated, I should have received that SMC along with others a long time ago. Thanks to good Vets like you and others on Hadit, I have learned alot, and feel strong enough to apply for it. I served in OIF/OEF and around Fighter Jets and all kinds of Ammo and other A/C without hearing protection, well documented, thats why I cant hear worth a crap, as my wife says, Lol. Thanks to all here for support, and apologize if I interrupted the thread. God Bless

  2. Cali, Sorry bud, but I have to agree with the Doc. You have a full time job, and have not sought treatment thru the VA. The VA will use anything against us.  I understand you are having  a hard time in life with your Mental Struggles. You have to go see your Docs and should not be working full time. I was making 30k a month when my Mental and Physical health caught up to me. I would rather have that, then the fixed income I live on now, but our health is more important then money. If you are in that bad of shape, you should apply for SSDI and goverment disability income, if you qualify. I do not like to talk to the Crazy Docs, but I have a full Mental Trauma team that I see at the VA. I just go to Vent, nothing has ever improved or (FIXED) me, but anything helps. I dont want to lose you or any other Vet. Just sit down with your wife and family. Decide what is the next move so that you can get the help you need. Truly wish you the best and keep us posted. God Bless

  3. armyvet89,

Glad you made it thru your exam. Based on Occupational Impairment, I would say 30% for sure, but based on what the Doc Checked you might get 50% from the RO Rater. Really hard to tell bud. Just glad that you will be granted SC, and that you are seeking treatment thru the VA. You can always put in for an increase if you feel your conditions worsen. As stated above, dont talk about your childhood. Some Vets will say that it is lying, but we all know that the VA will use anything to down play our Disabilities or what we went thru in Service. I truly wish you the best. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  4. Sorry to hear of your issues with the Exam. I have had over 20 exams since 2013, and I can tell you that plenty gets messed up. I had a Dr who put in my record that I was a 40 yr old female recovering Alcoholic. Took me 6 months to get that out of my records, seeing that I am male and was only 32 at the time, Lol. I just had a C&P last month for my back, and instead of Doc asking me about my upcoming back surgery, he granted me SC for a condition that I did not even apply for. So I just submitted a new FDC yesterday. God I hope that the VA can streamline this process and begin to look out for the Vet, instead of shoving us Head first off a Cliff first, and then looking for Disabilities after Death. Wish you the best and keep us posted. God Bless

  5. Sounds like a good idea as alot of Vets dont know of or how to apply for this program. Tbird, as usual you are correct that this program only applies to Post 911, and very hard to get approved for. I did not know of this program, until the VA Mental Health Docs actually put me in for it. I am part of the Wounded Warrior Program as well, so I do not know if this helps or not. I wish I did not need this or any other disability help, but I am grateful, as my wife works very hard to take care of my ongoing medical health issues. Jfrei, wish you the best and God Bless!!!

  6. Good afternoon to all,

I currently am 100% P&T VA, and Permanent Medically Retired from the Navy as of 2016. I have a few disabilities that were incurred in OEF. How do I go about applying for CRSC? My local VSO helped me apply back in 2014 when I was 80% VA T&P, and Temporary Retired from the Navy. He was not very helpful and one of those Vets that receives 10% disability and does not like to help fellow Vets, even though that is his job. I just want to make sure that I submit it right and proper, with the documentation to support it. Thanks in advance, and wish all of you a Blessed Day.

  7. jfrei,

Boy do i know about that dye, i throw up every time I have to do the brain scans, every 6 months at ft worth va. My cranial nerve damage is actually my tongue. The Military DRs burned and cut my tongue along with my throat 6'' by accident and didnt tell me until, it required a second emergency surgery. The VA admitted it was a botched surgery, but had no rating or that particular issue, so the VA granted SC disability under Cranial Nerve damage stating that it is an issue in the head area. Sorry to hear of your issues.

  8. Sorry to hear of your health issues bud. My 50% TBI falls under Migraines due to Concussions, and my 70% PTSD has all the mental conditions grouped into 1. Really I believe that over the last couple of years, the VA Raters really do what they want on that particular claim based on their mood. Multiple Vets can submit the same claim, and info, yet all be rated different, both good and bad. Wish you the best and keep us updated. God Bless

  9. USMC, as stated above, both are right, depending on which direction you want to go. Glad you got the Permanent.

Gastone, as you can see by my signature, I have alot of high %s and I am P&T. Just had a back C&P, claim is at Pending Decision, and having back surgery next week so it looks like that % will go up as well. Can you please PM or write back on here how to apply for SMC 1 and how much more it would be monthly. I too, looks like I lost time and money, just didnt know how to do it.  Gastone, I did not mean to interrupt your post, I apologize in advance my friend. God Bless

  10. as usmc stated, a few review of your exam would help us out, other then just guessing. As far as your symptoms, the VA will usually group all the Mental conditions under one rating, not multiple. I have alot of MH issues and they are all Rated as PTSD 70%. I could have been asked for an increase, but I am permanent and dont feel like dealing with the MH docs at this time. What is your SC rating for the PTSD. I have a separate rating for TBI. Good luck and keep us posted.

  11. Sorry to hear of that bud. I too have been on 200mg for the last year. Most of these meds now a days are pretty stout, especially at first. The light headed and dizzy spells have gotten worse for me over the last year, but I take 20 different medications currently. Just try to get thru it, if it helps you even 10%, that is what I have grown to accept as a success. Wish you the best and you take care of yourself bud. Good luck and God Bless.
