  1. Congrats and sorry to hear you are in that Temporary boat. I too was 100% T&P for over a year. I just filed for PTSD Increase and A&A, but only after the VA made me P&T. The VA still decided to review me a few months ago and actually reduce my scars from 30% To 10% last month, so the P&T doesnt keep the VA off our backs either bud. Yes when I was Temporary 100% I had full base assess, I am also Medically Retired as well, and I got full VA Dental Benefits and VA Life Insurance as well. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  2. Sorry to hear of his health issues, but congrats on the well deserved 100%. The VA raters are supposed to see if a Vet with high %s qualifies for any SMCs. It looks like your rater is doing thru job as said above. Hopefully it works out and yes you are looking at 2k plus a month. Not a bad increase in pay at all. Good luck and keep us posted. God bless

  3. I finally got tired of the VA messing with me as most of you know of my road traveled thru the VA. So last month I finally applied for an increase on my PTSD, and A&A as my wife is paid by VA on highest tier to be my Caregiver. Well my recent yearly Caregiver in home Assessment states that I still require a full time caregiver, and sadly I will be having in implant put in soon to make my Bladder work properly, and possibly both knee surgeries. Anyways, sorry for the blabbering. I had my exams last week for PTSD Increase, and Physical Doc for A&A both thru the VES so I can not see the C&P exam reports. If granted 100% PTSD or A&A, what monetary money comes with either, and what SMCs would I qualify for? Also with the A&A does a VA nurse come in to my home at all, monthly or yearly. I am not too crazy of new people around my home and family. Thanks in advance, and hope you guys have a Blessed Week

  4. Congrats on  your 100% and sorry to hear of your issues. Im in the same boat as you my friend. Last month I finally applied for an increase for my PTSD and applied for A&A, since I have alot of health issues and wife is currently paid by VA to be my caregiver. I too am 100% P&T and have wondered about the extra SMCs, I have just been so scared to rock the boat. It looks to me that you should qualify for quite a few SMCs minimum. I too am no expert as some on here. Good luck and keep us posted. God bless

  5. Last month I finally put in for an increase on my PTSD and A&A. I ended up having to C&Ps last week with Civilian VES Docs. What sucked was the first Doc had access to Ebenefits and actually had my VA Medical Records. It was the PTSD Review Increase Exam. The second Doc was for Physical health and A&A. She had no access to Ebenefits and no records whatsoever. So thankfully I had my SSDI and VA Doc Notes as well as my last 2 yearly Home Assessments for my wife's Caregiver program stating that I still need a full time caregiver. It sucks that we cant see those exams. It always helps to have those DBQs bud. My VA Psych Doc was going to fill out my DBQ next week but she had to have last minute surgery, so it will be a few weeks. Get your wife or a good buddy, to do support letters as well, Anything helps, and makes the VA's job easier even though we can submit every piece of evidence, yet VA still orders C&P exams. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  6. Glad you made it thru the exams bud. I just put in a few weeks ago for PTSD increase and A&A. I already had the Psych exam 2 days ago thru the VES Civilian Doc, which I can not get copy of results, and today I saw a Civilian VES Doc for A&A. Those exams were brutal and neither exam report will be available to me. My claim shows to be completed from Aug-Oct 2016. So it is really hard to say what will happen. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  7. Sorry to hear of your hard times bud. I just put in for PTSD increase and A&A last month, and already in a few weeks had one exam with PTSD Psych Doc thru VES on this past Tuesday. Today I had the A&A exam thru a VES Civilian Doc. The exams were brutal but I made it thru it, along with a Brain Scan I had yesterday. I collect SSDI as well, and they found me unfit to manage financials, dont bother me. I have 3 bank accounts and all are in my wife and me names. I trust her    It really is hard to tell with these Docs. The psych doc I  had the other day, was one of those Dry Nerdy type of guys that didnt show much emotion at all just went over the PTSD check list. He did however read my wife and buddys, support letter on Ebenefits. The Psych Doc today, was free flowing of words, kind of Street Talking type lady, who came off nice, but again just dont know. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  8. Well I went thru the PTSD review increase exam yesterday thru the VES with a civilian psych Doc.  I was very nervous, and it was hard. The Doc was very dry, and did not show much emotion good or bad. He stated that he read my wife and buddy support letters thru Ebenefits. He reviewed my MH VA notes from the last 2 years. Wanted me to read off the current psych meds and go thru a PTSD review check list. Basically yes or no answers, and then he would ask for extra info every now and then. I was in there for about 2 hours, and that was it, said good bye and he thanked me for my service. Hard to tell which way he was thinking. Glad I made it thru that exam. Sucks that we can not see those VES C&P exam reports online. Well I have another exam tomorrow, which I believe is for A&A, but I really dont know. Thank you guys for support, and pray for me tomorrow.

  9. Sorry I have been gone guys, thank you so much for the support. I actually have two PTSD exams thru the VES, one tomorrow and other on thursday. Just found out today that I am having an implant put in my lower back to make my bladder work correctly. That will be installed over the next few weeks. Hard to believe that at the age of 34 my bladder or bowels are working right. Sounds like the implant alone will increase the 40% to 100%. My PTSD should be increased to 100% as well per what the Docs have been saying for the last few years. I have a bunch of issues to file for including the Sleep apnea I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. I just trying to get the VA off my back. I hate having to relive this crap every other month, and being reviewed even though I am P&T. Thanks again guys, and I will update soon. I have already submitted Wife and Buddy Letters, VA Caregiver Nurse Reports from the last 2 years Stating that I require full time care, MH VA Notes, and going to submit my SSDI award letter tomorrow stating that I am Labeled as Endangerment to socienty

  10. Sorry to hear of your issues, as I too have Asthma bud. I am so tired of the VA coming after us. I just went thru this last month. I too am 100% P&T, yet the VA called me on 2/29 to come in for a Review on my 40% for Bladder issues. Well we drove over 300 miles round trip for a 10 min exam. Well what happened next, they continued my 40%, but then the Damn VA lowered my 30% for Scars down to 10%, even though I never had an Review Exam for my Scars and the Doc never asked me anything about it. Luckily it did not affect my 100% P&T.

  11. I feel your pain on your knees. I am having new MRIs done in the next few weeks. I am SC for both knees at 10%, and what is crazy is the VA wants to replace my R Knee due to 2 MCL/ACL surgeries, yet I am only rated at 10%. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless!!

  12. Asknod thanks for your info and help as usual. The pay that my wife gets is not an SMC what so ever. It is thru a totally different program called Post 9/11 VA Caregiver Program. The pay is a separate entity and division of the VA all together. The only SMC that I currently get is K for the L Testicular Surgery. Along with advice on Hadit, a few Docs thru the VA Mental Health have asked me to put this in, in the past. I have been very scared, Nervous and did not want to sound ungrateful or rock the boat. Another great fellow Vet on here PMed me and gave me some good insight and advice. I decided to go ahead and hope for the best. I have been so stressed since I pushed the Button last week on Ebenefits. Im Tired, and I mean Tired of the VA coming after me because I am so young. My family and you guys on Hadit give me the strength to get thru the tough days, and I truly mean that. Quick question for you sir, what is the pay for SMC L and the other SMC where a Vet has one single 100% Rating and then a separate 60% rating? I ask cause it looks like I will be having in implant put in my back to make my bladder work correctly, and I am currently 40% SC for the urine issues I have now. So if the SMC L works out and my PTSD gets bumped to 100% and then the Urinary goes up to 60% then I would qualify for the other SMC RIght?  Thanks again, and I could only hope to have your knowledge one day, so that I can help more Vets.

  13. Hard to tell bud, but as stated above the VA may have inputted the claim for you. I just filed for the SMC L, A&A, but I did not list all of my health issues, just submitted for an Increase in my PTSD. Should I have put in for my TBI, Crohns, and Migraines which are severe?

  14. Welcome aboard and sorry to hear that you were denied. I was granted SSDI for PTSD in less then 2 months which is really fast in Texas. It took my brother almost 3 years with a lawyer, and I filed mine online. Most people usually do get denied on the first go around. You have to remember that the Government always wants us Vets to quit on the first go around, so they dont have to pay us later. The Hell with that, you did not ask to be Hurt or Sick, so you keep her going until you get what you Deserve my Friend!!!   Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  15. Due to some good advice and help on here, I decided to put in a claim last week for an Increase to my current PTSD 70% and SMC L. My wife is paid to be my Caregiver thru the VA Post 9/11 VA Caregiver Program. I had my Yearly Reassessment recently and the VA decided to continue my at the highest Tier, and listed me as not being able to Bath, or do activities of daily living without the help of my wife. My PTSD has been very bad for a few years, but I was scared to put in for an increase, as I did not want to rock the boat. As most of you know the VA has done alot to mess with me to include my recently being Reviewed, Even though I am 100% P&T. The VA actually reduced my Scars from 30 to 10% even though the Review Exam was for Urology issues. So I printed out the DBQ and Aid and Attendance forms. I will give those to my VA Docs over the next month or so. I uploaded all the VA Caregiver Assessments which go back to Feb 2014, stating that I need a caregiver full time with activities of Daily Living. Also my wife typed up a 6 page Spouse Support Letter which I uploaded, and my best friend of 30 years is going to write a letter in support as well. It looks like I might have a few surgeries and procedures by the end of the year. I will tackle those with the VA afterwards. I am a nervous wreck and scared to death. This is the first time, that I feel that I am going head first at the VA. Just so tired of them Reviewing this, or doing that every other month. What is the point of being P&T, if I still have to look over my shoulder and sleep with one eye open. I have had more then one good Vet on here tell me to put in for this, and I hope now is the right time. I am going to Upload my SSDI letter that states that I am Permanent for PTSD and found unable to handle finances and daily living activities. I am well documented in the VA system since 2013 with all of my health issues. I really hope this works out, and need you guys to Pray for me. I chose the traditional claim, instead of filing as a FDC due to still needing the DBQ and A&A paper work filled out. You know how long that stuff takes, if I can even get them to fill the paper work out. Thanks again to all on here for the Support, and God Bless!!!
