  1. Seminoles, you are totally right, it sucks that the Govt controls us like this. Problem is too many people are addicted to the stuff. So they treat us all like First Graders. Thank God that you 100%, and just try to think of all the Homeless and Starving Vets out their with no Pension. That is the only thought, that keeps me from losing my damn mind. God Bless

  2. I have had to to urine tests since 2014. They randomly call me and I go usually the next day. A few years ago, the VA started having Vets do urine or blood tests due to Taking Multiple Narcotics, or Pain Meds. Hasnt bothered me and I live 250 miles round trip from both the local VAs. I actually had to sign a contract due to Wounded warrior program, and my wife handling my finances, stating that I will not over medicate my self, and do random drug tests. You have nothing to worry about. Good luck and God Bless

  3. Seminoles, Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. You and I really think alike my friend. I am also a Retired US Marshall, but like you dont trust the Govt. Thanks again and really appreciate you.

Hamslice and JR, thanks to the two of you as well. You guys just relieved a little of the weight on my shoulders. I am going to see the Back surgeon tomorrow, and shoulder surgeon on thursday. So I am trying to focus on that, and not the dang govt always coming after us. God Bless you guys and I hope you have a good week. You guys made my day.

  4. Sorry to hear of the Typical VA Woes.  Over the last 10 yrs the VA has supposedly done so much to improve the Claims process. In some ways I believe that, like the FDC process, which speeds up everything. The problem is the VA Thought Process and ending is ok, the Middle is where the VA drops the ball in every way possible. Improper C&P Exams performed by Nurses, PAs, or Docs that arent qualified to do the exam. Then if we are lucky enough, after 5 ft of evidence to be granted SC, it is either at the Low Balled %, or the VA gets the Effective date and pay wrong. I try to keep us with the News when they talk about new VA Bosses, or some new and great change coming. So far, just so disappointed with the VA as you all are. I am just glad you got SC bud that is the biggest uphill battle. Good luck and God Bless

  5. I have had 10 surgeries since 2011, with 3 more coming up, and I have an artificial bladder installed last year. I have too many health issues, as I was approved for SSDI in 7 weeks, which as far as I know is about the fastest I have ever heard of. I received the thick letter packet, and replied back with 1100 pages of VA records, just in the last 3 years, along with my Permanent letter. Most people tell me I will be fine, I just tend to get worked up, and stressed as most. As far as the Gray hair, just a saying, as my wife cant wait til I have Salt and Pepper Hair, hopefully I live that long.  Thanks for the support guys

  6. Currently being reviewed at 3 yr mark from the SSA. Has anyone on here ever been reviewed, what was it like? Also has anyone ever lost their SSDI? I am only 35 so I know the SSA will continue to review me every 3-7 yrs until I get old, and have a head full of Gray Hair, Lol.  Two years reviewed by Military, became Permanent, Last year VA went from 100% Temp to Perm. Just seems like every year I am fighting or defending myself. Worse is I am waiting to have back, neck and shoulder surgery. Just overwhelmed as most of us Vets are. Sorry for the rant, and thanks in advance. God Bless

  7. Welcome to Hadit, and so happy that you finally got what you deserved my friend. I spent  almost 5 yrs stationed in DC around all those crooked Politicians. They would always come around and shake our hands, and say we were Heros and the other BS that they usually say. But in the end, it is just talk, until it is written in Stone or Blood. I truly wish you the best, and God Bless

  8. Glad to hear you got SC for your conditions. Sorry to hear of your issues, but the hard times are worth the new beginnings. I have alot in common with you, and it has been hard for years. No amount of money will ever be worth it, but acknowledgement from the Military and the world goes a long way in life. Good luck to you and keep us posted. God Bless

  9. Glad  to c you are back on the site, and you got an increase bud. As far as your conditions go, I only got 10% for my knees, even though I had 2 surgeries on right and just waiting to get older to have both replaced. As far as the GERD, I have severe Crohns disease, yet I only rated 30%, about to have shoulder surgery, only 30%, about to have back surgery as well, only 30%. PTSD at 70%, even though served in both OIF/OEF, multiple injuries there, Military put me in Mental hospital for 100 days, yet again on 70%. Sorry for the rambling, what I am trying to say is the VA will always low ball all of us. Vets think that it is so easy to get to 100% SC, as you can tell from my Signature I have alot of high %s and health issues, and it still took alot to get 100% VA. Good luck, and GOd Bless, and hope now you got you a good place to live.

  10. Even if you get the Military to up to a Medical Retirement, you will not collect your Retirement. You have to pick the higher of the two, which for you would be the VA, unless you can prove your Military Condition was directly a war injury. As stated above if you are not working, then you can apply for SSDI in your state. Good luck

  11. Migraines are hard to get a high %, unless well documented, or related to War time head injuries, as mine are. I believe that you will get atleast 10% SC. Now that is a good thing, dont get discouraged. The hardest part is getting SC thru the VA. After that at any point you feel the Migraines get worse, just put in for an increase. Either way continue to seek treatment. I was getting 30 injections every 3 months along with meds and a tens unit. Nothing has worked for me, but again I have had a ton of Concussions, either 7 or 8 cant remember exactly. Good luck, God Bless and wish you the best. Try to hang in there, and keep us posted.

  12. Glad to hear that you were continued bud. I just got letter to be Reviewed for the first time. I am nervous as hell like most. I am 100% VA Permanent, Medically Retired from Navy, and my wife is my full time VA Caregiver. I still hate going thru all these processes over and over again, always some form of Govt coming after us. I am submitting everything to the SSA next week. I hope they dont bother me for atleast the  7 year mark. Good luck and God Bless to all on this coming 4th.

  13. adkins, you dont have to have a Military Pension to get Caregiver. Only requirement is Post 911 Vet, and a VA Disability pension that states you are severely disabled. Then, either VA Docs recommend or you apply for the program. Either way very hard to get on, and takes a while. My VA Docs both mental and physical recommended the program and my wife was approved to be my caregiver 3 years ago. Also, Seminole, a Vet can be on A&A and Caregiver program. Two total different programs, and different pots of money. As listed above the SMCs get confusing real quick. To the original poster, sorry to hear of your health issues bud. I was Retired at 32 a couple of years ago, so I know about Govt controlling due to my young age. Hope you all have a good 4th. God Bless

  14. Sorry to hear of your issues bud. Did you serve in War or what are the issues to have caused your PTSD? Were you ever Diagnosed by the Military or VA DRs? What is your 50% SC For? How long were you in Service and What was your Jobs along with where you Served? Do you have VA Brain Scans or any other Hard Medical Evidence that can support your claims. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless!!

  15. Update:  I received the BBE last week. I was denied the Increase for PTSD and kept at 70%, but my VA MH Doc is completing the DBQ as we speak. The claim moved to fast to get that Completed in time. So I will see what the DBQ says and go from there As far as the A&A, weird thing is it was Denied due to it stating that I met the Guidelines but am currently listed as Having a VA Caregiver, which is my wife, and She is being paid at the Highest Tier. I am assuming that the VA is saying that they dont approve Both, either one or the other. I will look more into it. I am 100% Permanent, So I really submitted this Claim to challenge the VA and get them off my Back. They have been Reviewing the Hell out of me Since Last Year, again even though I am Permanent. So though the process and exams were brutal, I am glad to make it thru the Claim, and show the VA that I am not going to sit back and take the Crap!!!  Hell I am having yet 2 more surgeries over the next 12 days!!!  Thanks all for the support and God Bless

  16. Congrats on the claim bud, but please make sure that you are not using any form of illegal drugs. 1) In the long run is not good for you, can actually make your MH matters worse, 2) The VA has been known to use this against Veterans in a bad way.   Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless!!!

  17. No CUE bud, as stated above. I was 30% for scars for 3 years, then a few months ago the VA reduced me to 10%. and I have quite a few scars, from alot of surgeries. It is very hard to get over 10% for scars bud. I never go the Appeal route, takes too long in my opinion. If the medical evidence is there, I reopen the Denied Disabilities and all but one were Granted SC at High %s. I always tell Vets that nothing speaks louder at an Exam then Hard Physical Medical Evidence. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  18. I have TBI and Migraines due to multiple Concussions while Active. I was diagnosed thru the VA with multiple Brain Scans. Since you did not receive a Diagnoses in service, you need a current VA Diagnoses and there are multiple kinds of tests that can be performed to verify the migraine issues. Nothing speaks more then Hard Medical evidence when it comes to the VA. Good luck and keep us posted bud. God Bless

  19. I am Post 9/11 and VA pays my wife on Highest Tier to be my Caregiver. The A&A is a totally separate pay and program bud. If you qualify for A&A that is what should be good for now. As far as the Caregiver program, I have talked to alot of people at the VA that believe the Program will not be available to the older Vets, due to the fact that most of them are of Age to Apply for SSDI and the SSA has a Caregiver Home Care program as well. Prior to the Recent Gulf War, Vets came home disabled at a Rate of less then 2 out of a 100 per VA Stats, and yet Gulf War Vets are coming home almost 4 per 100, thus more programs are being created for the OIF/OEF Vets. Sadly the VA is so Overwhelmed and behind the race, that the Govt can not even keep up. What is the status of your A&A? Have you had the Exams already? Wish you the best and keep us posted.

  20. Well my claim for PTSD increase and A&A completed today on Ebenefits but I see nothing. That whole process was quick, only a few months, but very stressful. I submitted a ton of Evidence and letters along with having to go thru 2 C&Ps.  I hope that I receive the BWE next week with good news. Thanks for the support and all the info given by the positive folks on Hadit Hope you guys have a good weekend. God Bless
