  1. I had to see both Mental and Physical Docs for the SSDI Exams. They were alot easier to deal with and more understanding then the VA C&Ps. I was in the Physical Exam for maybe 20 Mins and Mental Exam for 2 hours. I was approved in 2 months on my first try. Just go in there be honest, and all the Evidence will speak for itself. I have so many Health Issues that the SSDI only approved off of PTSD and Bone Issues. Said I was so far off, they did not even look at my Crohns, TBI or other health issues. Good luck and keep us posted bud. God Bless!!!

  2. Welcome aboard, and what was the reason for the No Shows? Did you move or not keep up with it? Also, I dont know why Vets have to Appeal everything. Just reopen the Denied claim, with the new Exams and Medical Evidence and Service Connection will be granted. I was denied a handful of issues at first. Instead of Appealing and waiting for years, I just reopened and all but a few were granted and at High %s. Sorry to say bud but depending on the State and the Back Log, these Appeals can go on for years. I know of a few personally that have been over 5 years. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  3. I personally have helped Vets that used Civilian DRs that claimed all kinds of medical issues but never actually saw the tests. Then go to the VA and have all the Same MRIs, Scans and X Rays, guess what nothing there. I have had a ton of Scans, MRIs and everything else over the last few Years from the VA and Civilian DRs. I have copies of all of the Results and CDs too. Do you have copies of the results, or can contact the Docs and get them? I always say Hard Medical Evidence is Evidence, no matter how you look at it. In my case I have been Granted New SC conditions as a Result of these various test for a C&P exam for a totally different Condition. If you have all these issues, then you should be able to get those results, or go to your civilan DRs and have them done again Good luck and keep us posted

  4. That Vet's Spouse may be getting the Lower Tier 3 which is only a few hundred a month, also you cant tell just looking at a Vet. I am 6'3 200lbs and built like an Ox and used to play sports even in the Military for the Service. If you saw me on the street you would not know how bad My Crohns is, or TBI or a chunk of my skull is missing, due to a full head of hair. I do agree that if Vets dont deserve or take advantage of the program then they should not be granted. The problem with the New Wars vs the others is there are Too Many Vets getting exposed to alot more then just Agent Orange. Hell every other month the Govt is trying to pay the OIF/OEF Vets to participate in Medical Studies, only to find out that we might get 20 different types of cancer any day of the week. In my case my Wife can not get ChampVA cause we Have Tricare due to me being Medically Retired, so again there is a program that I can not get yet I am Permanent Navy, VA and SSDI. I dont get upset, there are different programs for different Folks based on their needs and income. I did not know this program even existed but due to being so bad off, the VA Docs actually requested the Program for me, and I was approved fairly quick. In Tx there are less then a few hundred on this program, so yes it is a very hard program to get approved on the Highest Tier, and that is not many considering I live in one of the Biggest States with a heck of a lot of Vets. If anyone thinks they are going to get Rich off of being Disabled they are crazy, I was making over 20k a month with my education, and now I make a lot less. I have accepted my health issues and try to live day by day, and be grateful for my family. If you are as bad off as me, I truly wish you the best. God Bless

  5. Hoss, it sure is alot to take in most days with us Vets, Bad Health, MH Issues and balancing the Family. Really is a hard thing to do even on a Good Day, with a Civilian, let alone what we have gone thru. I recently sold our bigger house, for a nice smaller house with more land, and we are currently in the remodeling. Boy I feel like the MRSs is going to Divorce me every 5 minutes cause she has no patience and wants it all done asap. It takes alot for us to get thru our days, but we have to remember that the Spouses are Reliving what we go thru. Just try to be the best man and father you can be, and remember that she is not your CoWorker, Shipmate or anything other then your Loving Wife and Mother of your Children. God Bless

  6. I totally feel you bud, I am only 33 and have had SSDI for two years, and I have not been Reviewed Yet. As stated above I was in the Wounded Warrior Program and was approved for SSDI in 8 weeks. I too always worry about the different Agencies coming after us. All I can say is continue to seek treatment and make sure you have the documented medical evidence to show them. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  7. I got my SSDI in 2014 in less then 8 weeks and I was only 31 at the time, after being medically retired from the Navy at 30.I was 100% VA Temporary from 2013 thru last fall, then became Permanent at 33. I filed my claim online with SSA, did not even use a Lawyer. I had multiple exams thru the SSA, and was approved very fast and only on Mental and Bone issues, they did not even need the Crohns or other health issues to approve me. In my case I have had 19 surgeries since 2009, so it didnt take much to make the SSDI get approved. With the SSDI the process is actually quite smoother compared to the VA as long as you have the Hard Medical Evidence. Also I can help you on a side note, but you will need to PM me. Good luck and God Bless!!!

  8. I went thru this on my last house. I actually just bought another house and I live here in East Texas. I submitted the paper work last week, and it usually takes about a month or so around here. I have never gotten the past taxes back though. I feel you bud, I live by one of the Best Bass lakes in America, and my taxes are over a 1K a month, that I have to pay as well until I get approved. Once you get the Paper back from you local Property Tax Office that states you are approved for no taxes, then you call your Mortgage company and either mail or fax the form to them and that usually takes a month or so as well. I have lived in Texas most of my life and the No Property Tax is what keeps me here til my kids are grown. Good luck

  9. Welcome aboard and sorry for what you have gone thru my friend. I really dont know how to answer you at this time, except that is is good you are currently Service Connected. Remember you can always put in for an increase if those conditions are worse, or keep you from working. Have you filed for SSDI?  Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless!!!

  10. Welcome aboard, and sorry this process is so rough, but you just have to make the best of it. It is like Poker bud, some Docs look and sound mean, but then Grant SC, others are nice as hell and deny everything. Best piece of advice is go in there and be honest, talk about your most recent bad day. Dont overdo it just, tell it how it is. Most Examiners wont allow your Spouse in, I have had a ton of Exams, and wife never allowed to go in. Some Docs will ask you if you have Supportive Medical Evidence, but again most will only want to go over what they have. Do not dress fancy, or over do the cologne. Again, there is no easy answer to this process. Just remember to not look the Doc in the Eye, but be straight forward and dont use words like Symptoms or Diagnoses, remember they are the Docs not us, plus it makes it look like you Googled what to say. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless!!!

  11. Sadly, agree with the other Vets on this one. Just dont know how an ankle with No Medical Xray or MRI evidence to justify being unemployable. As stated anyone can sit on their butt, in a comfy chair and answer the Phone for $8 an hour, which again as stated more then the basic moneys. Good luck and wish you the best.
