  1. Very common bud dont freak out. My last 2 FDCs were both at Pending Decision for over 2 months, then both went back to Gathering of Evidence. Just means that the VA is making sure that the RO and Raters are doing there jobs. Also claims always move slower around the holidays. With all of the Days off, Most VA only works a few days here and there. Just try to relax and good luck. God Bless

  2. Sorry to hear of your hard times, and I know this whole process can be overwhelming.  As stated above you need to fix the bank and address info asap. I have seen to many Vets have to wait for their money, because of small issues like these.   Also your C&P exam notes is what will be on MyHealthEVet.  Post those hear and we can atleast give you an idea. Good luck and keep us posted.  You should hear something in the next few months. God Bless

  3. Sad to Say that Chuck, you are right on the money my friend.  Coming off of Active Duty in Feb 2013, I made 2X what the VA pays me now to Be Disabled, which I did not ask for when I entered the Military. The Govt always says average income, my AS*.  I am very grateful for what I get every month from the Navy, VA and SSDI, but it is still not what I would have made with all of my Degrees. So being that I am only 33, when I think about how much income I will lose over my Lifetime makes me Sick!!!   Just dont get why there are so many Homeless Sick Vets, that should be Living better then the Murderers, Rapists and Drug Dealers!!!!   Sorry for the rant, I dont hate anyone in life.

  4. Jimmer,

Sorry for what you are going thru, but it does not seem to ad up.  Were you treated for these conditions while Active?  The Sniff test is not as good as medical evidence as you think.  Do you have MRIs or Xrays on file of the Lung and Back?  Were you Diagnosed thru the VA, and currently Seeking Treatment?  For Example in my case I have SC Asthma, and with just the breathing test, anybody can fake that or affect the results. But I have had MRIs and X Rays of the Lungs that show the Black spots and Scar Tissue. I always say that Evidence is Evidence. The DBQs and Medical Evidence that you have is from the VA, Right? If not, then Why Not? Again anybody can pay some Doc off the street for the Services to See a Patient Once and Type up a Piece of Paper. You are well SC already, so make sure that you are Receiving all of your Treatment at the VA. I myself do not like to deal with Appeals, I just Reopened a bunch of Denied conditions, and went to the Next C&Ps with the Same Evidence, and mad the Docs actually read them and Talk To Me, Instead of At Me, and all but a few were granted SC.  Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  5. I have had a couple of the same issues, where the VA opened a new claim on Ebenefits for the condition that I challenged, but it worked out in my favor. That is how I got my Permanent a few months ago, VA opened a claim to review my last 2 SC conditions, but instead of a regular claim it was a review. Went thru the exams, and a few months later, Boom I am not Permanent. Just go with it for now, and keep us posted. Good luck

  6. Pete,

Thanks for the info, I have been wondering as I am VA and Navy Permanent Disabled and Retired, but I believe my SSDI is not permanent as of yet. I have not read anything that says that I am up for review thru the SSA, but not read anything permanent either, as their paper work does not explain as well as VA. I read online that I will begin to receive Medicare Insurance in April 2016 which will make 2 years since I was granted SSDI. Does that mean that I am Permanent? Not trying to hijack thread, just had a quick question while it is on my mind. Thanks

  7. I dont think that you need to do anything at this moment. Being that it is around the holidays, you should see the PTSD report online by the end of the week. I have had multiple PTSD exams and reviews, and they all posted usually within 2 weeks. Just try to relax, and focus on the holidays for now. You should receive good news soon enough. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  8. Thank you guys so much for the support, and I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. I had to have a few procedures done, and a few more to come next month. I still look over my shoulder every day, I guess just in the Head and Body to be on the Guard.    SReyToU,  I too was afraid to ask for P&T due to my young age, even though I have alot of mental and physical health issues. The VA RO decided to Review my Conditions a Year Early. So I went to a handful of Review C&Ps, then a few months later, I received word that I was now Permanent.  Give us some details about your Disabilities.  Are you a 100% VA?  Do you collect SSDI, and what is your age? What is the background about your time in Service? Etc, Etc so we can go from there and try to help. God Bless each and every one of you and hope you have a good weekend.

  9. So to hear what you are going thru. You have to remember that a very few % of Vets actually get SC for all of their initial conditions claimed. The VA always wants us to give up, therefore less Benefits and $s to Grant. I have had 4 FDCs and over 30 C&Ps at 2 VAs and 3 VBS clinics. It took that many C&Ps and DRs to grant what was already there when the Navy Medically Retired me 2 years ago. Thanks to the Good Folks on Hadit, I took the time to learn and challenge the VA. I never submitted any NODs or Appeals. I did not want to fight the VA for years, over what I knew was there. So I just kept Reopening the Conditions thru Ebenefits and Filed FDCs. Guess what all but a few were granted SC at high %s, that was with my original Medical Evidence, I did not get IMO or NEXUS, as the Evidence was there all along, I just had to make the VA and ROs open their dang Eyes and Ears.  I totally agree with Pete above info, he is right on the Money. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

  10. That status wont change your Claim, as I have had multiple FDCs over the last few years, and all went back and forth more then one. My recent claim was at Prep for Decision phase for almost 2 months, then back to Gathering Evidence, and in the end they just wanted the VA Exam Docs to clarify their opinions. Good luck and keep us posted

  11. USDEVIL,

I totally understand that this whole MEB/PEB, IDES as they call it now, can be a Stressful Process. You are in better shape then you think. I went thru this as well, and was Medically Retired from the Navy in 2013. I was very scared, cause I too did not know how this process works. It looks like the process is moving along. As far as your Psych Doc, that is how it goes. I was only Medically Retired for Crohns Disease and PTSD, yet the VA granted a ton of SCs at high %s as I had a lot of medical issues. The Navy decided just to go with those 2 conditions and not I am Permanently Retired from the Navy and VA, and I collect SSDI, and I am only 33. Good luck, and keep us posted as you go thru the different steps. My whole process from start to Retired was about a year. I hear that the process is a lot smoother now, and also you need to realize, that most DOD folks, do not have a lot of Experience with the MEB/PEB process, and there is always high turn over. God Bless

  12. Welcome aboard my friend, and sorry that you feel that way. You have no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed about anything.   I felt the same way, when I was Medically Retired in 2013 at the age of 30. I then went on to be a Federal Agent for a little less then a year, until my health caught up to me. Yet after doing 10 yr active, multiple Wars, and Agent chasing most wanted Child Molesters, I felt so ashamed to ask for help.   I went 8 moths with no income and almost starved. Then multiple Vets to me at VAs, that we us as Vets that have gone thru Hell and Back don't get benefits, then bad or lazy folks who don't deserve the help, will go get those benefits that we need and earned. You did not ask to get sick or hurt after the Military, and yet you feel this way. No Sir, My Fellow Vet, you earned every $ and benefit that you have now, and in the Future. I feel that the Govt will never do enough for us. We on Hadit Love You and are here for you. Only we can understand what we have gone thru. Good luck, and you file whatever you think is Ailing you, and I agree with the Advice above. Please continue to seek treatment. Keep us posted and God Bless!!!

  13. Smirak,

It can be a good or bad thing, that you are being reviewed already. Really hard to say at this time. But as I say, just go in there be honest, and the medical evidence will speak for itself.  The VA typically wont Reevaluate smaller %s, or conditions where the highest % is low at most, like Tinnitus which is only 10%. Good luck and keep us posted
