When I received these utensils in the mail I was unaware I had Parkinson’s Disease, as that is one of the common ailments among Agent Orange/Dioxin contaminated Veterans. But it came as a surprise to my Primary VA Caregiver last week that I received this shipment.
However, I believe, my Ischemic Heart Disease to be a direct correlation to Agent Orange exposure, but at this point, the VA does not! So far I have had a quadruple by-pass and EIGHT stents due to Ischemic Heart Disease as well I have Peripheral Neuropathy, but that recently developed, I believe because all of this hit me at once. Strange enough, my 100% disability rating comes from none of the above diseases!
My medication for Ischemic Heart Disease is taken daily, but this last year I seem to have to double up on them as their strength seems to have gotten weaker over the last year.

This morning is the morning that VR is going to explain what they can do for me ... so long now, I really don't care anymore.
I understand how vets can get in this situation. Shameful that our .gov would allow this. Seems clear to me, the enemy has taken OVER THE VA!
i PRAY FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP so they ha may clear out the rest of the RATS from the ship!
I wonder how many pair of 'sock pullers' they have reserved for me ... ?

I got a POSITIVE response this week stating that VRILP will grant me a Laptop, but hotspot and software denied.
They also sent me some 'weighted silverware' it stated on on the package for Parkinson's sufferers and on the utensil itself 'MADE IN CHINA' ...
The irony is that my 100% P&T does NOT include my main neurological issues from agent orange exposure.

So the, THE DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK, counselor called me this week to schedule yet ANOTHER telephone appt. I basically told her I was no longer interested in the V.A. wasting my time with promises they won't deliver on and ended the conversation.
I got an email with an appt letter for tomorrow AM.
I think of this woman, who has most likely been sitting her hefty behind in a comfy chair for the last several decades, deny, deny, deny till they die ...
Glad it is only a phone interview.

If you feel they might be intentionally sabotaging your ILP claim because of it, I recommend you can the WH VA Hotline again. From what I learned, there's regular complaints which is like the one you placed. However, there are executive complaints that do directly to the VA Secretary's office. They will determine if it needs to be handled directly or delegated. It also puts the issue on their radar. If it is something that impacts only me, I use the regular complaint. If it is something serious or could impact other vets, I request the executive complaint.
I'm not an ILP expert and have never requested ILP assistance, but have read here and elsewhere that what one counselor denies, others may approve. I have read where a veteran was told that they could not get a riding lawnmower approved, but others did. I assume that some things cannot be approved at lower levels, but might at upper levels. Don't give up on the lift chair just yet.
I am a Marine @Vync we don't give up ...
I have filed ANOTHER complaint with WH Hotline.

I had my appt this morning, although late, as she had an 'urgent' call ... Had I not had my counselors report; she would have had to send out ANOTHER to my home. I told her I would send the report. But the whole thing stinks!
She started working from home when we had our last appt. Now she says she 'Lost her notes' ... I reminded her that she was @ home for our last appt, where she took her notes ... She started 'stammering' ... "well I had to had them over to my supervisor" ...
According to her VR no longer does lift chairs.
How do I find out who her supervisor is? I did call WH hotline and they have referred me to a VISN, who doesn't seem to want to help too much.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that the counselor wrote several times in my report that I manage a FB forum for Trump ...

I have been fighting with V.A. ever since my discharge. I am discouraged when I see people that work for the V.A., probably as long as I have been trying to get my benefits, and they simply don't do their job! I think about other vets that have been denied and went onto and die without help that they are mandated to provide. Their medical service is as much as a joke as their benefit department!
Last year I had to have a quadruple by-pass. I had it though the Choice Act. The private doctor did not know that the V.A. would not fill my prescriptions and I was sent home without them. One of the pills was a blood thinner. Two week later I had another heart attack because of this error and had to go back in and have five stents.
A few months earlier, because of my drop foot and the V.A. denying me a HISA that has been suggested by TWO of their counselors, I fell and broke three ribs.
When is enough, enough?

I spoke with VISN about the fact that she seemed to be 'stalling' my case. As well I discussed I needed a lift chair, sooner than later ... He called my primary, who had a social worker call me to inform me that they do not do 'lift chairs' anymore. As well I inquired about the V.A. Medical Foster program, for my cousin. Which I was informed that they do not participate in, but STL does.

Maybe I did not make my point clear.
I had a phone call with my VRILP counselor in March, when they first started working from home. Now she is rescheduling, because she says, she does not have access to her March notes; when she started working from home ...
I am in contact with VISN over this behavior.

In Feb of 2018 I had an accident where my back went out on my and my left side became paralysed. I spent two weeks in the hospital relearning how to walk with a walker. I also became incontentine because of the nerve damage. I eventually regained some feeling in my left side and now am able to walk with a cane, but still have footdrop.
In January of 2019 I had a counselor come to my 'unfinished' home, for an appt on Independent Living. He made several suggestions, including an SAH/HISA grants, scooters, lift chair and hospital bed. My VR counselor wrote up the items and sent them to my, then current, primary. My primary ignored them. VR then said they could do nothing for me until my primary complied; so they closed my case.
I got a new primary, as I moved to the Womens Clinic and reopened my claim. Rather than going back and submitting the paperwork to my new primary, VR decided I needed a new home visit. I complied. The suggestions came back similar to the original visit.
Here comes CV19 and my VR counselor is 'working from home' and does not have her notes and I have to start all over again!

I have NO CLUE what VR is up to ...
My situation has changed since I last spoke to her in April. My cousin, a veteran, who is now living in V.A. assisted living, wants to live with me and is appointing me as his guardian. I have no idea how to deal with this, as it would require new modifications, as he is pretty much in the same boat as me ... except he uses TWO canes ...
In November I had to have a quad-by-pass, because of the dioxin and agent orange. Due to the fact I had this surgery at a private hospital, referred by VA, they did not provide me medication upon my discharge ... They thought the VA would. Because of this and not knowing how important this medication was; I went without. This caused me to be hospitalized again, because my surgery did not take and I needed to have FIVE stents.
I can't understand, how to the V.A., Veterans seem to be second class citizens.
Any suggestions of how to get them to do their job?

I, still, have not received the infamous envelope.
I have VA appt tomorrow about my HISA/SAH, if my PCP does not cancel because of this FAKE VIRUS ... Lol.

Site History
"Former Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) El Toro comprised approximately 4,700 acres. Commissioned in 1943, it supported the Fleet Marine Forces in the Pacific as the major west coast jet fighter facility. MCAS El Toro was placed on the National Priorities List in 1990 due to the presence of volatile organic compounds, primarily trichloroethene and tetrachloroethene, in groundwater at the base boundary and in agricultural wells located to the west of the Station. The Station was decommissioned in 1999 under the Base Realignment and Closure Act.
The Installation Restoration Program (IRP), focused on 25 sites at the Base. Of the 25 sites, 16 have been closed. Post-record of decision (ROD) activities are underway at 8 of the 9 remaining sites; and a feasibility study (FS) is underway for the last site (soil at IRP Site 1). The Environmental Compliance Program, a parallel program to the IRP, covers the other locations of concern (LOCs) that include but are not limited to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act sites, oil/water separators, underground storage tanks, and aboveground storage tanks. Of the 1,022 LOCs, approximately 99% have been closed.
Nine Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) documents have been completed. To date, 4,402 acres have been transferred. Approximately 218 acres are being leased, and the remaining 74 acres comprise the Navy-owned portion of IRP Site 1. Land use covenants (LUCs) are in place for five sites.
As part of the base closure process, a Station-wide Historical Radiological Assessment was conducted in 2000 to identify potential, likely, or known radioactive source materials or contamination. Radium-226 was identified as a chemical of potential concern because of its use as a component in luminescent paint in dials, gauges, and other equipment in aircraft. With the exception of one site, Hangar 296, all radiological sites have been closed. The Radiological Site Inspection and Final Status Survey Reports have been finalized for Hangar 296, and CDPH recently issued their radiological unrestricted release recommendation to DTSC.
Fieldwork for the time-critical removal action (TCRA) at IRP Site1 (20-acre portion of the Adjacent Property) was recently completed. IRP Site 1 is an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Training Range. Property adjacent to this site was impacted with kick-outs from training activities conducted on-Station. The TCRA was performed to address potential explosive hazards that may pose a threat to human health and the environment in support of an unrestricted use designation. The Irvine Company plans to develop a portion of the Adjacent Property for residential use.
The next steps for Former MCAS El Toro include completing the TCRA documentation, FS, Proposed Plan, ROD, and post-ROD activities for IRP Site 1 soils; closing out Hangar 296; completing the Deep Vadose Zone Remedial Action Completion Report for IRP Site 16; completing the Technical Memorandum, Explanation of Significant Differences, and LUC for IRP Site 3, Waste Area C1; completing a LUC for IRP Sites 1 and 2 groundwater; transferring the remaining Navy-owned property; continuing long-term monitoring/operation and maintenance at IRP Sites 1, 2, 3, 5, 16, 17, 18, 24, and AA 3; and completing five-year reviews as required." -

It would not matter the percentage, as the VA does not, @ this time consider it 'service-connected' and I am all ready 100%. I am pretty cognizant of meds, as I was a CNA prior to becoming a network engineer ... computers I can fix! .gov I cannot ...
