I am showing an increase in one of my SC conditions on E-Benefits as when I opened IU claim they also evaluate SC for increases before IU decision. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive retro back pay for this increase? I am owed 4 months at this point.

If awarded IU with no PT what health benefits are dependents eligible for if any? Would ChampVa be available, or is it only for P&T TDIU?

I agree totally. I just wanted to get the info out as It will in the end bite the VA in the ass hopefully. Just another attempt to try and put them in a bright light as they are helping vets as much as possible. LOL

There is also a new process called DRC decision ready claims that takes 30 days but is still limited to what you can file using DRC. Hopefully soon it will expand to such claims as IU which I am filing for and wish I could do so using DRC.

GA yes I do have evidence in fact from a job I had 3 jobs ago that i was given help for depression and in the end terminated. I can also get evidence from all jobs but the question is they will not say I was terminated for specifically Depression it will say I other so how can that be used.I was always terminated, I never quit the jobs. Anyways I am really stressed right now along with depression at high level as I am also battling trying to help my son. Long Story. Dot9- Yes I am starting counseling MH this thursday at VA so I can share all with him and maybe just maybe he would be willing to help.

Dot 9 I am also told I need my Doctor to say that I am TDIU. She says she will not be able to do that and I need to start counseling and they can file that. Getting a physician to do this will be the difficult part. My doctor does document and continues to document my employment termination and due to disabilities as well as how bad my depression and ibs are just do not know if that all is enough, but I suppose it is a start and to have Vrep and I fill out paperwork for TDIU and submit that. I already have a date setup intent to file on ebenefits i just now need to complete upload and send the claim.

I am struggling to know what to do at this point. I am 50% Depression 30% IBS and 10%tennitis. I told VR counselor that I do not think I could work but that I want to go forward. I was soon thinking of going to Vrep to file for IU but then i cannot wait around and not bring income in. I would rather work even just for a bit so i can bring income but work never lasts as my depression and ibs take over. So its tough to know what to do

I do not have TDIU i am only 70%. This whole situation is becoming confusing. I myself am saying that I will lose my next job as I have been terminated the past 3 jobs due to my depression. But...That does not mean that I will get the backup needed to file for IU which to me it is better to work for a time then to not work at all and bring no income.

Stone I am not willing to take the risk losing stipend for 2 months and then waiting for a most likely dissaproval of IU. I can almost guarantee I will be turned down for SSDI as well. So I decided to go forward with job placement. Its a tough place to be but I have to feed my family

Can anyone tell me if your eligible for Unemployment benefits upon graduation from Voc Rehab. I am starting the job search process of VR next week but am wondering what is all available while not employed. I think I will still receive a stipend as well but was not sure if i was eligible for State Unemployment as well.

Can anyone tell me how it worked for them upon graduation from Chapter 31. Do you receive a stipend while looking for employment?

Hello. I have an update and questions. Today I met with my Voc Rehab Counselor. I graduated yesterday so today was to meet counselor to discuss next step to seek employment. I informed him that I was not able to maintain employment due to my depression and ibs worsening. He stated ok he would write me a feasibility letter stating at this time I am unable to work due to my disabilities. Of course he reiterated that he would not himself state it that he was deciding this. He understands that I am seeking IU. My question is this helpful that he is writing this feasibility letter stating that I cannot work? I am taking the feasibility letter when he is done then going to my VR to file for IU. Also will it be a bad idea to try to work while I am waiting for the claim to be decided. This is going to be a hardship financially since I no longer am receiving my school stipend.

Actually GA STONE I do not have a copy and did not ask for a copy of that C & P MH DBQ. I wish I did that as I now know to get copies of that everytime i do a C&P. My doctor does note exams and my IBS exam is on myehealth. I am going to check to see if the origional C&P I did for MH is on my ehealth.

Well I wish the best, from what i am reading many are dissaproved.

My doctor is very concerned about my MH state at this moment and is very supportive. It will help me to keep her informed about my status and to have her support when I go for my IU. If she assists in wring a letter of my MH state and physical state will this not help me? I am very lucky to have the VA Doctor that I have she is a one of a kind.

Gastone thanks yeah i am meeting with my VR Counselor very soon as it is procedure upon graduation from Voc Rehab. My goal is to receive IU not the independent living program but that is an option which I appreciate you pointing out. I am trying to just stay focused on the goal and not get too much going on in my head as it makes my depression worse.

GA i am told I cannot further any Voc Rehab as I have used all of it up and am maxed out. I was suggested to talk with my current Voc Rehab counselor and let him know I was terminated recently by employer due to my disabilities and that I do not believe I can hold down any job due to my conditions getting much worse. If my current Voc Rehab can write that up that I am not able to hold employment that would be very helpful. We shall see how that all goes soon.

Will do all you suggest I can have my employer contract company write me a letter stating that I was terminated due to my depression as I do not believe the VA Hospital Chief of Police will do that for me as he was the person that terminated me. I did well in school but I did have issues during school that I needed to leave classes due to IBS and depression but I did finish the degree.

Thanks Buck. Yeah 2 years ago I started voc rehab and am done in a week with the program. Since I started my conditions are getting much worse and as stated I was terminated from VA Hospital which i did security for as a contract employee. My doctor wrote that in notes that I was terminated due to my disabilities (. Unemployed currently - got fired by the VA Police due to depression. Working on his Bachelor's in business off and on.) My issue is that since I have started voc rehab my mental and physical conditions have grown much worse. I do understand though that what your saying Buck is that the VA is going to say I have a degree now and deny my IU. I just want them to understand my conditions have grown to the point that I do not believe I can hold a job.

i just completed Voc Rehab after 2 years graduating in a month. The problem is in this time I was terminated from employment already had and it was due to my disabilities. My MH and IBS are getting much worse and I have always had problems keeping employment due to depression so as I found out recently that I qualified to put in for IU I decided to apply for it. That is where I stand right now;

Update I have the claim in the system as of December 22 2017 as Intent to File. I have stopped at that not continuing the claim as I want to speak with my VSO first. Now what should I look to do?

GA stone I am confused as to what exactly you are saying. Im not sure exactly what to do and what stepts to follow on E-Benefits. VA Voc Rehab counseling is new to me. So far I have understood to file IU Claim on ebenefits but to not submit that just yet. I am also told to file for state SSI. Lots to think about just want to make sure I do what is the best and to do it right.
