I Just Dont Get It

I think wannabees are few and far between-than again I have sure met some here in rural NY-

What I dont get is- I read this story will little interest at first-

he got probation after making up a lot of stuff about his service-

then I read at the bottom how the OIG is seeking to recover some VA comp he probably got wih false statements.

How the heck can the VA send comp to a vet who is found not to have had the service he claimed -yet they can make everyone else prove everything?

I just dont get it.

The VA will pour over a claim looking for ways out to deny it and yet this vet might have gotten 11,000 bucks in comp illegally.

I really question why he did not get any jail time,

especially for this part,

I wonder how the judge would have ruled if his name was of Middle Eastern descent like Iqubal ?

I also wonder if The Office of Homeland Security was involved in this ruling or not. I feel they

should have been as this surely seems to be a case that involves National Security.

Back in the 1970's the VA began sending me compensation at the 100% rate. I knew this was wrong since I was only rated 10% at the time. I told them they had made a mistake. They denied it. I sent the checks back. They kept sending them. After a while I just put them in my bank account and waited. One day with no explanation I went back to 10% and never heard a word from them.
