Question

The va scheduled these 2 vets appts same day different times...they live together and normally drive on different days of appts. They rode together and va said only one gets travel pay...what reg states this?

Another day they each drove themselves as there were hrs between appts, but va told them too bad, first one to cage gets travel pay, you have same address...vet told them look at my car, grandpa is prob at home already, they said too bad...same day appt/ same address only 1 gets paid! How can they get by with this? They never asked for same day appts.

Guess that they could appeal it

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

I would've asked the travel person to see the regulation right then and there!!! Make them show you in writing. I find that often when I do this at the VA......they can't do it. Call their bluff.

I don't know what the rule is though...............

Hey, try this website. I think number 27 may partly answer your question. I am not sure about the same address thing but you can prove you incurred an expense and you traveled in a different vehicle. I also think I read you have 30 days to file an appeal

My intentions are to help, my advice maybe wrong, be your own advocate and know what is in your C-File and the 38 CFR that governs your disabilities and conditions.

Do your own homework. No one knows the veteran’s symptoms like the veteran. Never Give Up.

I do not give my consent for anyone to view my personal VA records.

Technically, each veteran is entitled to payment for their own travel and if it goes thru lunch time would be entitled to a meal. The address would have nothing to do w/it. Each veteran might need to state that they each drove themselves and if that turned out to be a lie, it could constitute fraud. Where 2 vets live together but drive separately, they would each be entitled to travel pay. They are not required to "car pool." They can appeal that incident.
