Shinseki's idea of a Cola is to put Pop machines in VA hospitals so that Veterans can get a Cola whenever they have $1.50...which wont be that often because Veterans wont be getting a raise in 2009, and probably not in 2010 either. There just was nothing left in the budget after all the VA executive bonuses and lucrative contractor awards to have anything left for Veterans.

No, Carla, I was soooo happy to see it go. It's a way overrated motorcycle. I hated the damn thing and actually did a little happy dance when the shipping company picked it up. One of the biggest wastes of money I ever spent, besides my Jeep.

pr

pr,

Have you quit crying about the Harley yet ?

This has been a good year for my COLA.....truck & car paid off = 898 per month, Shaved $317 off the mortgage, reduced FEHB by $124 per month. Total COLA = $1339.00 per month.......which gets banked for a new Titan (Harley on steroids), if I could just stop smoking that would be another 250 per month.

bronco,

Why continue to slam the VA with an issue they really totally have no

control over.

Many vets that are rated around 50 percent or higher and also recieve SSD

have found ways to lower their cost of living while they continue working

towards a higher rating when warranted by their medical evidence.

Many vets and VA claimants are thankful for the security of a monthly income

and not having to do battle everyday with trying to maintain employment.

As evidenced in today's economy there is no financial security in the

private sector.

The lack of a COLA this year has absolutely nothing to do with your

statement of,

"There just was nothing left in the budget after all the VA executive bonuses and lucrative contractor awards to have anything left for Veterans."

Some people make the choice to complain - even if you hang them,

with a brand new piece of rope.

BTW - have you offered to return any of your compensation dollars

to the VA, after all the CPI is lower this year, or are you secretly

still paying the same fuel charges that you were paying last year ?

jmho,

carlie
