Question

I filed for TDIU in March of this year. I am sc'd for DM II and secondary peripheriral neuropathy conditions:

20% DM II

40% PN lower left extremity

40% PN lower right extremity

30% PN upper left extremity

20% PN upper right extremity

Any thoughs on my chances of getting granted TDIU

Well John make sure the VA knows you are now on insulin that alone will get your DM2 up to 40%.

It appears that you are really suffering from the effects of DM2! Sorry for that. Do you have or have you been tested for sleep apnea? With all those nerve conditions I would watch that closely. I am not a doc but that seems like a lot to me.

You need a Request of Statement filled out by your PCP, if he will , that states because of your diabetes mellitus your require insulin, restricted diet, and regulation of activities with episodes of ketoacidois or hypoglycemic episodes(low or high) within the month,or one or two hospitalizations per year or twice a month visits to a diabetic health care provider. This will get you to 40% on DMII or if you are more severe with a lot more episodes that will get you 60%.
