Do I Need To Postpone Surgery?

Rate this question

Question

I have been diagnosed with Severe Bilateral Carpul Tunnel Syndrome for my hands and wrists. I have a claim in to the VA as secondary to being required to use a cane to walk. Both my legs are shot and service connected.

The CTS is getting too much to handle and I need to have the surgery. What impact will the surgery have on my claim? Should I hold off until after a decision is made before I go through with the surgery?

I just don't want to screw up my claim. After the surgery will the VA take to position I am cured?

I need to know before I screw up.

Not sure on the answer about this but if it were me I would go ahead and have the surgery. I guess I would rather feel better than the money.

Since you have no idea how long it will take to get your decision I would get the surgery. CTS can be helped by the surgery. If your legs are shot and your hands are curable why would you want to lose the use of them?

I had to quit practicing medicine over the internet, so I can't help you. Sorry.

Slow as Va is I would get the surgery if it would benefit your health in any way. Ratings will come when they get there and all your evidence should be documented in your medical files already.
