Question
shett
Hello,
I had symptoms of anxiety and depression during active duty. I filed a claim for anxiety and depression. VA scheduled a mental examination for me. The examiner asked me all sorts of questions about my life before, during, and after active duty. She asked if anything had led to my anxiety symptoms during service. I told her about an incident where I was beaten up, nothing to do with combat, I was never in a combat environment. She wound up diagnosing PTSD (which I had not claimed) and stated it was due to my assault in service. VA denied my claim because I had no verified stressor. Does this sound right? Any recommendations?
Thanks
