Has anyone noticed that the call center responders have gotten more polite, and generally a little bit more helpful lately?

Perhaps this is a clue as to why.

all govt phone calls incoming and outgoing should be considered as being recorded if nothing else by NSA if not the agency itself that is calling or being called. I have always assumed all my e mails and phone calls are recorded by the govt since the story came out about Pacific Bell letting the govt tap into the hub in San Francisco back in 2002 which alloweed them access to all ATT data lines and the computer servers The Patriot Act made privacy laws a thing of the past this is just a fact of life in the post 9-11 aftermath

Anyone notice its ok to record us but the VA freaks when we record them?

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

This is good information, Chuck, and Vets should take note of this.

Why do I think this is most likely the VA does this for their own interests, not the interest of the Veteran? Oh,....duh.... I looked at their history.

Chuck -that is very interesting.

I called the VA about 2 weeks ago never expecting them to call me back.It regarding my claim status and as a widow I cannot use ebenefits so I have to hit the ebenefits number and then wait for a rep.

They called back in 20 minutes and I got more info from the man then I ever got before.

I also contacted via email the Survivors Office to gripe about something and I got not one but two emails right away as to the problem I griped about and the Office of Survivors man was very helpful to me.

About 2 years ago some VA rep gave me such a hard time on the phone ( telling me my claim was not valid at all -yeah right- this is the claim I won last year)I was so angry I contacted VACO and then faxed them a letter that went directly to Shinseki (so they said).

If I had been dumb enough to believe this VA 800 Rep I might have withdraw my claim or failed to continue to pursue it.

800# reps are not allowed to opine on the validity of our claims.

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
