Question
Berta
Debbie is having problems getting here to post-
will try to help her on that-and the PTSD to cigs issue-
Thank you all for helping this vet-------here is her email to me-
HI Berta,
I just tried to post a huge thank you to everyone from Hadit! Jimmy has had some help from ILS, due ONLY to hadit members, as the VA, PVA, etc. told him no. ILS did some adaptions to our home to make it more wheelchair friendly, though it still is not wheel chair accessible.
Hope you are doing well and still busy as ever!
Jimmy has DVT in his leg (VA about did him in again, at the SCI annual exam, the dr. said the swelling was nothing). Took him to a private ER and the Dr. shot heparin in him as soon as he looked at the leg. Admitted him on a emergent basis.
Side note, notice now that even though Jimmy is s/c for heart/claudication in legs, secondary to PTSD.........the VA doc seems to blame everything on smoking?? suddenly? The SCI is never mentioned by the VA as being why he has the DVT, or the other still to be diagnosed new lump....even though immobility from what I had read and what the private doctor says causes DVT.
Did I read somewhere that smoking is secondary to PTSD? Tried to search the Hadit forum....but still can't get it to work for me.
Anyway, the security of having Jimmy in an enviroment that is more suited to his needs............is all because of the work you do and the people on Hadit!
I can't thank you enough. God will surely reward you, Berta. The verse about what you do for the least, you do also unto Him..........reminds me of you helping everyone!
Thanks again so much,
Debbie

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."
Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
