Getting A 2Nd Copy Of My C File

Now that my initial claim was decided, I am filing an NOD on the effective date portion of my

decision. When I request my 2nd copy of my C File do I include $25 check in envelope with

request? If so who do I make the check payable to? Thanks for your help.

Here is letter I received july 13, 2012.

By regulation (38 c.f.r. 1.526(i) ) the VA will provide a copy of material in your VA claims file:

one time only, free of charge. If you request a second copy of anything we have sent you, there will be a charge of .25 cents per side of each page, AFTER THE FIRST 100 PAGES.

A copy of this notice will be placed in your file to alert us you have already requested the enclosed information....

Here is what I received and have recently sent the check , bank draft for the amount so as to have a complete Cfile.

I have already received a service connected award and now am awaiting the Cfile. I am hoping to have my "complete" C file in another 2 months. This topic comes up from time to time and its good that everyone knows what we as Veterans can expect.

The Veteran can get one copy of his or hers Cfile and after that the charge is based on what the Veteran needs. If its just for copies from a point after the original C file was given , then it will be much less. Requesting the full C file though is expensive.

I sure wish I could have lucked out and got Petes clerk.......hahahhahha... It would not have been as painful. Thank you again for your service and you are at the right place. NEVER GIVE UP . God Bless, C.C.

That's quite the charge Captain. I only need what was added to my file after a certain date, which shouldn't add up to alot of pages. I wonder if I

requested pages after a certain date if I would get everything that was added or would the request be messed up somehow?
