0 ArNG11
As if Georgia Papa. That would be grand. I'm getting tired of the half ass care I have been given. That is why I am so worried when I have to rely completely on the VA for medical care. It's scary to say the least. I often have wondered how long trying to get the VA to give me a referral for a gastro doc would have taken. Oh wait a sec. I do know. FOREVER. I'm luck I have private insurance. I have already seen two specialist, a surgeon, and had the surgery, and the best the VA has been able to do is give me an initial appointment to see a gastro doc in early April. Go figure huh. 0 ArNG11
So far so good with this procedure. The dysphagia is still there, I do have to avoid trigger foods and have to chew my food to mush. Still have the nausea every now and then but the burning has only come back when I have gagged on food a few times. Not terrible all together. georgiapapa
0 georgiapapa
ArNG11, I am glad your procedure went well but I hope you will eventually be free of all of the GERD symptoms and issues. I have healed from my UPPP surgery and go for my last follow up visit on March 17th. I will be scheduled for another sleep study to see how much my OSA has improved. My wife has not heard me snoring since the surgery but she said I am still having some apnea episodes. I know I still have some level of OSA and my doctor indicated he will probably implant an Inspire device in my chest if the next sleep study shows my OSA is moderate to severe. Good luck to you. Keep me posted. GP
0 ArNG11
Heh GeorgiaPapa I wish you the best. I hope you get the results youre looking for. I still deal with my CPAP. It got old after the first week using it but reluctantly I still comply with using every night. I might look into the surgery myself, whether the VA connects my sleep apnea or not. The chronics runs is my next sort of obstacle but that is a work in progress and a daily battle. 0 ArNG11
I haven't updated in a while so I figured I would since I'm trying to keep my fingers from falling asleep. The fundlipication was a success but not complete. I am still having issues with feeling pressure and the sensation of something in my throat. I, if you can believe this, got the VA to do a barium swallow, but everything showed okay. I don't really know what to do other than tell the docs m problems and concerns and report symptoms and progress. I still have private insurance so i am going that route. The VA cancelled and rescheduled my gastro docs appoints know 4 times and Im to see him some time in Aug. BS, not waiting that long. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Wednesday. The burning has considerably been taken care off. The mini throw ups have calmed down a bunch but still happen, the chronic diarrhea, well, I wish someone would invent the three sea shells, my butts is raw quite often. I have to say though it has calmed a bit, however, its an ever-changing see saw. Even with further diet changes, loosing 25 lbs, and liquid meals some days are quite terrible. The stress of it all does't help either. I'll have to wait and see what the docs come up with and suggest.

ArNG11, Check out the LINX Reflux Management System. This system was approved in 2012 and is used by Dr. Daniel Smith at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. It is GERD surgery using a ring of tin

Well I'm back from Neverland. The operation went well and normally I would have been sent home, however since I have ITP my doctor wants to make sure it does not cause any complications. My throat
