meadows87
I got out of the Army in November 2013 and filed for disability in December 2013. Today my claim shows it's completed. I did only 2 C&P exams but provided substantial evidence. Here is what I woke up to this morning: Disabilities Disability Decision Related To Effective Date Status Actions right knee chondromalacia of patella with mensical tear 20% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary lumbar sprain 20% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary bilateral hearing loss Not Service-Connected Reopen left hand injury Not Service-Connected Reopen post traumatic stress disorder (also claimed as paranoia, anxiety, depression, irritability, anger issues, and sleep disorder/loss) 70% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary right shoulder strain 10% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary right hand sprain 0% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary tinnitus 10% Service-Connected 11/10/2013 Request Increase Add Secondary I got a combined total rating of 90% and am so relieved. I cannot believe this is over and actually went in my favor. My question now is, if the claim was completed today- how long will it take me to get the BBE? What about the retro pay? I did not retire. I dd my eight years and got out honorable, if that matters. Also, my award is for 90% single vet, when I am in fact married since 07 with a son born in 09. How will that work with adding them? I see I can do it online but I want to wait until the retro is there so I don't mess anything up. How long will it take for them to add them? Will I receive the retro for that as well? I have not posted on here except one time, but I have read so many forums in this community and cannot feel any more privileged to interact with such a group. I will be making a donation when the retro hits. Please advise me on these topics and I thank you all so very much for your wisdom.
Notorious Kelly
Excellent job getting 90% first go around. I agree to wait until you get your money to point anything out to the VA.
Berta
They should send you a TDIU form with the award letter. TDIU is paid at the 100% rate. Notorious Kelly is right. The actual BBE will tell you more. I always got the cash prior to getting their award letters.Hope they put the retro into your account sooner then later, if they have your direct deposit info. kate7772
With my very limited experience, my husband was approved for one claim on a Wednesday and the back pay was in the bank on Saturday. Kate
