Question

Just confused by this whole mess... My VA counsler was talking to me about jobs when IU runs out (guess she thought it was only good for a few years). Started my normal worrying about everything. Looked at my award letter and states granted IU but no mention of PT or Temp. I looked at my letter generator on Ebenes and no commisary letters but PEGGY from 800 number sent me letter to get MIL ID for comm/px. My letter on ebenes says Im no PT because revaluation is set for nov 2018... But I called PEGGY and was sent a letter stating P and T but not for any specific aliment.... See my confusion now...

I receive SSI before my IU was granted but im so confused..... Am I P and T (so I can get my son on Champva)????

Sounds like you are Temporary 100% until 2018, but also It could be that only 1 condition is being reviewed and the others stay. Really hard to say without your Official Package wording. Good luck and God Bless!!!

From the info you have furnished regarding effective date and the date of the future exams i would say you are not P&T the Rep from the VA on the phone sent you the letter for the ID card sent the wrong one you are entitled to card being IU but it should have an expiration date around your future reeval time as for getting the CH 35 info not sure what that's from could have been from the letter being sent out for ID cards

Livinginhell, you might want to consider investing some of the retro into obtaining an independent medical opinion, that involves the P & T status.

P & T is a medical determination and, since there are dependents, CHAMPVA and Chap 35 are a wonderful benefit for them.

But they award will tell you more and also, it is often hard to determine here if a P & T rating is appropriate, to pursue because it rests on a medical P & T finding, with a full medical rationale.

VA paid over 13 thousand dollars towards my degree under Chapter 35.

And my CHAMPVA is wonderful. I wish all vets could get CHAMPVA.

Actually I think I am eligible for an extended Chap 35 eligibility date due to my 2012 AO IHD Death award

They did extend it it due to a past AO DMII death award but I have to ask for the eligibility extension.

i am a veteran's surviving spouse but it is great when a living vet can get the P & T status for their dependents,in their lifetime.
