HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted August 12, 2015 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 12, 2015 I have two fee base claims for reimbursement of medical expenses. They have sat at the Fee Base Office for 9 months. I called recently and they "lost" them again. I contacted the IG about this practice of losing claims. Funny thing, after I contacted patient advocate for the umpteenth time they found one of my claims, but none of my evidence. The other claim is lost for good. I resubmitted it after 9 months. This is not the first time my claims to Fee Base have been lost. The first time they just threw the claim away because they did not want to work on it. The boss of Fee Base actually admitted this to me that an employee had tossed my claim and that he was being disciplined. It took 6 months to get that straight. I got some money after Fee Base drilled my doctor and practically called him a crook. He would not deal with them again. The best future for the VA involves a wrecking ball and privatization of that system. It is a white elephant. It is a money pit with no bottom, but vets are not getting the money.John
USMC_VET
This is only one person. Likely one of Many that have been told to do the same thing. Scandals are a brewing. J The VA is a government agency and what govt agencies do is they set out some sacrificial lambs to the slaughter to the appease the mob. The union for fed employees is very hard to battle and make it very hard to fire someone. there are cases of folks that spent thousands of hours watching pornography and they only got a slap on the wrist. What this is, is the VA recognizing there is a problem, or i should say recognizing that the rest of the world outside is now seeing the problem they have SO. they pick a few folks that have made such egregious mistakes and outright illegal acts that it would not be a hard fight at all to fire them. so they make a few headlines saying ____ was fired or ____ was indicted so when they are interviewed they can say they are "aggressively prosecuting" employees who put vets lives in danger, etc....few bad apples...etc etc etc. Then it will all stop and business will go back to usual.
