RETRO

Rate this question

Slick

Question

received decision June 2015, effective date of claim 16 Jan 2015.  Spoke to DFAS and they processed and sent to VA in August.

Multiple calls to VA get same answer- "in-work."

just sent "inquiry" via ISIS or whatever it's called.

Some would say it's money in the bank, just wait- but it's not my bank so what's normal time from decision to receiving retro- if their is a normal?

In the End all that Matters is you get the Money. When I was first Retired in 2013, I did not get a $ for 8 or 9 months. We went thru our saving and dang near starved. I finally swallowed my Pride and went to ask for Food Stamps. The Local Food Stamp Office called and said that I had too many Assets that I owned. Said if I sold one of my Cars I would get $114 a month in Food Stamps WTH. Basically we were being penalized for owning our Cars. Yet a Dope Head or Ex Con can get better benefits then us Vets, and not even have to ask for them. Sorry for the rambling bud. I am glad you won, and hopefully your money will be in the Ole Bank soon enough. God Bless and Hope you have a Happy New Year!!!

This might be one of those times, when having a VSO that maintains a fully staffed office at your RO, comes into play. Touch base with the MFIC of your VSO at the RO and discuss your Retro situation. It might be as simple as him calling a friendly contact or walking down the hall and discussing your Retro Hold-up with the "Right VA Employee." Certainly couldn't  cause much more of a delay, think?

Buck- you da man.

For all, whether my retro was ready to be processed or it was the call, in ether case that's a good number to file and use if you think they can help push things through the pipe.
