Tomorrow is my PTSD C& P NERVOUS!

Question

Hi everyone! I have not been in here for a while since I have started some classes. I bet I have some catching up to do! Last week I received a phone call from VES to schedule all of my exams ASAP, so tomorrow is my PTSD exam. I have been stressing about it for the past few days, but I know that cannot help. Next week I have to see the dentist on the 25th, a regular general medical doctor on the 27th, and on the 29th I have a bunch of X-rays and an echo-cardiogram scheduled.

The VA had sent me a letter, dated for the 24th of December 2015, stating that they could not settle my case under the FDC program because they needed to know where all of my aches and pains were located. I was not surprised that they were going to remove my claim from the FDC, but the reasoning was suspect. I had provided all of the pain locations on my claim, and when I go to eBennies and look at my pending claim, I can see all of the places listed. Today I received another VA letter stating that the Dec letter was an error, and that all of my appointments would be scheduled very soon, so my claim would stay in the FDC program after all. yay!

I still do not know where my STRs are! The agencies from which I have requested my records (except for my local VA records) have all sent me letters stating that they do not have them. Argh!

I hope everyone here has had a pleasant holiday season and a good start for the new year!

EDIT: I was going to ask a few questions, and I totally forgot! Here are my most pressing ones:

Should I bring notes with me?

What do they do during the PTSD C&P? I have only answered some survey questions in the past and didn't discuss the actual event. I am very anxious about that!

Kinda funny tho, I have never had a single exam where they were looking at my STR while I was there.  Or else I could have said look here, around this month and year and so on.

My last exam, Saturday 3 weeks ago, I was in and out in 5 minutes!!!  He asked about radicular symptoms in my lower extremities, which I saw on blue button notes as marked exactly as I described them(a first for me!). Then he performed the "do you feel this" test with the monofiliment.  Which I did feel...he said I don't have periferal neuropothy.  I said oh, I thought this was an exam for radiculapathy.  Said nope.  Oh....

Funny my first exam the doc didn't even use a goiger gauge.  He didn't even pull up anything on the computer.  What even funnier is that he stated I had no curvature of the spine.  I find it amusing.  As I will be seeing the exact same doctor next week.  These last 4 C&P's I have brought records with me every single time.  Some looked at it and some ignored it completely.  By X rays the curvature is bad any non medical personnel could see that.

Anyways these are some of the things you have to deal with and know how to fight the BS.

ArNG11,

Years ago I had an examiner use their finely calibrated hand to feel the crepidation in my knees!  They were like "whoa, you can really feel that!" But then got nothing for it in the decision.   Come to find out, they had marked "no" when asked if there was any crepidation.  Why go through the motions if you gonna lie on the paperwork?

It is the system my friend.  It's geared to deny, under rate, under cut, and hurt the veteran.  Why are there so many appeals going on then?  It's not because the VA is following the regulations or the letter of the law.  Knowing how to outflank your enemy is key.  I hate to think of the VA as an enemy but really they have left me no choice.  At least there are good people out there that still have some ethics and morals. Much like we were taught in service, core values, ethics, morality, hell I even go as far as to write being a decent human beings.   It is what it is, frankly I don't want to understand it, I don't want to overanalyze this whole shin dig,  I just want to be successful in obtaining was is due to me by regulation, law, and well rationalized untainted medical evidence. To be left in peace and to live out what I have left.   I wish the same for all of us.

I'll get off my rant, I'm no one special, just another Veteran trying to get help from Uncle Sam for the service I gave. Trying to help my fellow brethren do the same.  Be truthful, dot your "i"s and cross your "t"s .  Fight for your entitlements as I can confidently write, "We" have earned them.

It's funny, you know, during my MH C&P exam, back on Nov 3rd, the "person" couldn't understand why dealing with the VA is so stressful, as far as claims go.  Duh!!!  Oh wait, he's not a Vet, and didn't have my best interest in mind.
