    Have Questions? Get Answers.

Tips on posting on the forums.

    1. Post a clear title like ‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery instead of ‘I have a question.

    2. Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title.
I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

    3. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.

Again – You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

    Leading too:

exclamation-point.pngPost straightforward questions and then post background information.

    Examples:

    • Question A. I was previously denied for apnea – Should I refile a claim?
      • Adding Background information in your post will help members understand what information you are looking for so they can assist you in finding it.
Rephrase the question: I was diagnosed with apnea in service and received a CPAP machine, but the claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

    • Question B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
      • See how the details below give us a better understanding of what you’re claiming.
Rephrase the question: I was involved in a traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”

How long did it take for Dr. Bash to complete your IMO?

Hey Charlie,

I too hired Dr Bash to do a IMO May of this year, everything was through his son Chris. Since the initial check was cashed I cant get any response either by phone or email from anybody on Dr Bash's team. (I never actually talked to Dr Bash yet) I am hoping he takes the summer off, but all the links on his website are dead. When was the last you talked to anybody?

Good Day all.

I also hired Dr. Bash to do a IMO in January of this year based on information here on Hadit. But I have heard nothing about my IMO. Last I received was this on 07/22/16:

I responded, and still have received nothing. I have tried every number, fax number, and nothing. Truthfully, I really think that I have been scammed. Everything seems legit.  And yes, money has exchanged hands. I no longer expect to receive anything from Bash, but if I do, I will advise.

I too have only heard good things, that's why I hired him. I just hope he is having some personal issues or is sick or something. Deadline for my appeal is Oct 1st. I need to find someone to do an IMO quick. Looking for someone, any recommendations?

I just type ''Dr Craig Bash Veteran Advisor'' in  google browser    and it brought up his web site  and  News segment about him helping a Veteran that got his leg blowed off.

so his site is still up and running.

Craig Bash M.D., dba /Veterans Medical Advisor, has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau based upon failure to deliver services.

Two complaints have been filed against the business since 2013, and the business failed to respond to either.

I was promised I'd have my IMO in a month by Bash over the phone.

Didn't happen.

Won't respond to letters, emails, etc. Doesn't seem to have a problem cashing my monthly payment checks though..

That's $2350 dollars for nothing that I've thrown away unless the IMO just so happens to fall out of the freaking sky one day..

I could have used that money and flown to Oklahoma City and had the Ellis Clinic do four IME's for

$500.00 dollars and still had money in my pocket.

Feeling really bummed out.

Humm  IDK?

Maybe Jerrel Cook & Jbasser can get him on the hadit blog talk radio show here in the near future as their guest speaker and you can call into the show & talk with him.

I'll check with them.

63Charlie,

I think you and I are in the same boat. I also read the complaints, but there was so much more good out there about Dr. Bash. I figured that he would be able to help me with my IMO.  I did get responses from a "Chris", but that has stopped also.   I would talk to your bank and ask them to not honor  any more checks to Dr. Bash. At least you won't be out any more $$$. Maybe he'll surface.

Also, I am going to see if maybe the Ellis folks can help me.  It won't hurt to talk to them. I am not a veteran nor was my husband. But we both worked in Iraq and Afghanistan as civilian contractors. My husband died on July 4th, 2013.  From the time we got the cancer diagnosis (Stage IV Renal Cancer), until he died was less than 15 days.  He never got to see an oncologist or a pulmonary doctor  outside of being in the hospital.  NONE of our doctors would write a medical letter of opinion for me. I heard "NO"  more times than I care to think about.   For me, finding Bash was almost my last hope. But, like most things, maybe it he was just too good to be real.

You being a vet, and being in this situation is crazy! I am at loss for words about this.

If I hear anything at all, I'll post again.

When I talked to Bash I negotiated with him over the cost of his help.  It is inexcusable for him to take 6 months to deliver IMO.  He is always ready to take the money.  I know he used to be good and would write opinions for federal worker's compensation as well.  If BBB gives him an "F" I would worry.

Hey john999,

Maybe news about Bash will surface? Maybe not. I can't say that for me it doesn't matter, because it does.  He charged me 5K, offered a payment plan.  I really didn't have a clue about how much a IMO would cost, but I should have been smarter. I am out 4K on this deal. He can try and cash the last 2 checks, but they won't be honored.

Have a good Tuesday!

I heard great things about Ellis Clinic from Federal Worker's Compensation people.   The thing is you have to go to them which means getting all your records and going to Oklahoma City.  If I wanted an opinion from Ellis Clinic would I have to pack up all my SMR's,  VA and private medical records to see them?  I never used them because I had very good doctors I had been seeing here in Tampa and they referred me to other doctors for friendly IME.  This was because I was in treatment for MH stuff for years by private doctor.  I am being treated for DMII and OSA by the VA and by private doctor.  However, none of them will go out on a limb and say the DMII or MH issues was secondary cause of OSA.  This is what I need for my OSA potential claim.   I also have High Blood but VA will not opine that it is cause or effect of DMII or CAD due to AO.   I have not worried about it because I have TDIU and HB.  I would like to get the High Blood and the OSA SC'ed but am not willing to pay $5000.  I would fly out to Ellis Clinic I think.  I first heard of Ellis Clinic from OWCP claimant who got what they call Schedule Award (cash) for injuries to his hands and feet.  Much more than I got because my doctor would not stick his neck out one inch but did say some injuries I have were work-related when I worked for USPS.  This did create problems for me later with conflicts between VA and OWCP.   That would fill a book.

When you get benefits from various programs it always has potential for problems as causes get intertwined and programs point finger at other programs to pay for the damage.  The thing is most of us need at least SSD and VA to pay 100% to actually survive.  $3000 a month from VA is not enough to support a family where I live.  $5000 will do it if you have no debts.

just goes to show Bash is just what I told you

he is old at the VA and never believe everything you read

on here because they are his friends. Too expensive and not a expert

witness but people choose to use him from what they here. Don't know

what type of IMO YOU NEED but I have a great one for TDIU,OR UNEMPLOYABLE

AND ITS JUST $500.00 . Never pay for services you have not gotten yet. Pay when he through

RUREADY,

Thanks for the info! I need a IMO for my survivor benefits for the Base Defense Act.

I thought that a independent Medical Opinion would be the solution. And I have to admit, I was very wrong.

Cheers!

thanks RUREADY!

Had a great attorney, but since I couldn't get my IMO, had to find another one.

The one good thing about the Base Defense Act is no lawyer fee's!
