Question

I received a letter from the VA on November 18th that they ordered a C and P with an outside contractor on November 14th, the outside contractor is MSLA. I have not heard anything so I called the VA who in turn gave me the number to MSLA and when I called they said they received the request from the VA on November 14th but don't have any openings but when they do the caseworker handling my case will call me. Is this Right? has anyone ever had to deal with that? Thanks for any input

You'll just have to wait.

I find it hard to believe that your VMC MH Dept doesn't have a Sr Psychiatrist or Psychologist PhD to administer the Rating Dept PTSD C & P Request. Obviously if the only VMC MH Dr is also your MH Treating Clinician, he couldn't do the C & P.

Squeaky Wheel gets the Grease, time to start SQUEAKING!

Hey Gastone,

The outside contractor called me yesterday and I am now scheduled for my PTSD c and P next week

Yes I went thru this last year for a Heart Dr and Psych Review. I had to wait just a few weeks for both exams to open up. 1 exam went well, other was horrible exam with a Civilian Psych Doc that said PTSD was not a real condition. The VA over rode him and kept my 70% PTSD. To be honest I have been treated alot better with my Civilian C&Ps. Good luck and keep us posted. God Bless

I've had similar C&P issues with LHI.  They only have one contractor, at an office 1 1/2 hours away from my home.  They called to schedule one exam and I was scheduled to be out of the country during most of their available window.  Although I was never given an exam date, the VA said I missed a scheduled exam and they denied my claim.  Later, they admitted the exam was never scheduled.  For a different exam, LHI only had one opening the entire 30-day window they had to meet the VA's suspense.  They said I would be a no-show if I didn't take that appointment.  I had to cancel an appointment with my neurologist that day to go to the C&P exam.  Not good.
