Is your Direct Deposit Account set up to Txt and Email you regarding all Financial Transactions, if not, do it today.  Retro Deposits usually hit well in advance of any actual Award notification from your RO. The heads-up from the DAV is somewhat unusual, sounds like you have 1 of the more involved Reps.

If your Retro is under $25K you should have had it yesterday. Has your eBen Award page  Info updated yet?

The only snag or delay would be if you are retired military and are currently CRDP or applying for it. If so, they will have to conduct an audit at the VA and DFAS first. This can take a couple of months.

This is a letter from DAV, not an official letter from your VARO.  So, unfortunately, we dont have a good answer as to when you will get your money, nor do we have a guarantee you will get it at all.  Just like the rest of us you simply need to wait for the envelope and the deposit.  Make sure VA has your current address and banking information if you want it electronically deposited.  (Faster than snail mail checks.)

WOW- it is still taking that long?  But  Many have waited longer.

Thanks for letting us know L. You deserve this CRDP benefit!

Odd-I was just talking to a retiree I know and started to wonder why CRSC has to be applied for- as that is not automatic.

I wonder too- how many lifer vets even know about CRDP and CRSC.

I think they started mentioning this benefit when my daughter went to the transition briefings, before she was discharged .2004- but not sure. We had a good laugh over the VA briefing she described.

She already knew how snafued the VA claims process can be. She was still in high school when I got my initial DIC denial and she said "Can't the VA Read???" (They failed to consider my probative evidence and did award a few months later.)

This was in 1996 and in many ways , I found in subsequent claims, mine and even claims we see here-

that they still cant read.

Yes, from my experience, it was DFAS that took most of the time to conduct the audit and return it the VA. And, it's the same thing all over when there has been a change or increase. Be advised, the delay is only for the retro side...the monthly payment happens about as quick as anyone else.
