1454th Solider It's happen to me recently as well; not to worry. The people working on you claim put in "request' to get an action worked on. Say, for example, an action to request  a contractor to schedule a C&P. When  that action is accomplished, they consider the request completed. It means absolutely nothing to us in terms of affecting our EED or decision date, and a request number isn't neccessariiy going to be completed in order either. And, on top of all that, what Bronc said is true; it just isn't accurate.

Most actions in VBMS (veterans benefits management system) have suspense dates attached to them per statute (CRF and M-21). Once those actions are satisfied, either by action from you, a dr. sending in records, a personnel or other records request to Records Management in St. Louis or whereever, those dates change. The claim completion date is always an estimate because sometimes dr's don't respond to records requests, veterans don't respond to information requests, Records in St. Louis or your local Guard/Reserve post don't respond, whatever, or the request that was satisfied creates a need for an exam or medical opinion, or something else.
