HadIt.com Elder GBArmy Posted October 28, 2020 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 28, 2020 Does anyone know if you can get a copy of your rating code sheets anymore at the RO? Or do we have to send a FIOA request to Janesville?
0 HadIt.com Elder GBArmy Posted October 29, 2020 Author HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 29, 2020 I couldn't agree with you more. It provide clues that may not be apparent on how to appeal your claim. And often will also provide info on potential new disabilities you didn't realize there was any evidence on in your file. That's why I'm waiting for my latest round of claims to be decided (hopefully soon), so I can better figure out any appeals I might have to do. I expect some interesting info in there. 0 Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted October 30, 2020 Moderator Share Posted October 30, 2020 The only stuff in there is stuff that you or your POA submits, phone messages if you call the 800 number, doctors records (that you have access to anyway), C&P reports (depends on the vendor, don't ask my why), Capri records (VAMC- that you have access to already through ebenefits. Its the same thing- Ive compared my own BlueButton and Capri records), and Narratives and Codesheets. There are no 'secrets' in there.
0 deedub75
I didn't have a copy of my STRs so I was able to get access to them when I got a copy of my c-file. There is no way I would have gotten to 100% without them. By that time I was working for VBA and I had gained so much knowledge about disabilities I could file for by seeing what others were claiming and by reading through the CFRs. I went through my STRs and found many things that I didn't event know the VA for give service connection for.
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted October 30, 2020 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 30, 2020 I have to disagree with brokensolider244th...they do add documents to our C-File without telling us, I have several documents they added and never notified me. If I had not read them in my C-File I'd most likely never known they were in there.
0 Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted October 30, 2020 Moderator Share Posted October 30, 2020 Like what? If it was medical then it came from Capri and was uploaded in response to a current claim-which we already tell you that we're going to do. Your POA has access as well and can upload documents for you. Service Records are either automatically obtained at discharge, or if pre mid 2000s we pull them from the service repositories and add them to you records- something we also tell you when you file a claim, and is stated under "duty to assis" in M-21. I believe you are talking about the "LEGACY CODES PAGES". You can call and ask PEGGY but make sure they know that you are not asking for an audit of your records, you just want a copy of your last rat
