ChampVA is refusing to pay my wife's claims. Has anyone had much experience with appeals on ChampVA. I am so frustrated I want to see my congressman, but will it do any good? The hospital keeps sending the bills to ChampVA and they keep ignoring or denying them. They are going to get turned over to a collection agency I fear. I filed appeals on the denials but it is taking months and months. I can't get them on the phone or find out anything. Blue Cross is the primary and ChampVA is secondary but so far they have never paid a dime.

My wife has had real good luck with ChampVa...but I think in the past year, ChampVa must have been cut in the Budget. She re-ordered blood pressure medicine by Meds by Mail on 1-31, still has not received it and I am going to have to purchase some from the Drugs store. I called ChampVa...first time after waiting 25 minutes---phone died on their end. Called back and after about 20 minutes, a lady with a very strong Mexican accent told me they had been temporaily out of the medication(hard to believe), I asked her why they didn't notify us....."WE DON"T NOTIFY NOBODY", she said. "We have over 500,000 patients and we don't have enough people working." I said, what if just 1 person died because of the failure of ChampVa??????? "I don"t know", she said. I'm afraid that the Woman's Clinic will drop my wife since the last yearly exam was billed at $450 and ChampVa's allowed payment was less than $150. I think ChampVa will be the next investigation!

Was the medication LA Inderal or propanolol? My wife takes this med and all the local CVS's and Walgreens are continually out of it. I was thinking of doing meds by mail for that 1 particular medication.
