My Missing Med/psyc. V.a.records
hey folks, just wanted to inform you that the issue with my missing records that supposedly were sent to the RO,St. Pete[150yards] from the ROI office, still have not been located and the Administration has not returned any inquiries.[failure to notify] Soooooo, i got a hold of Bill Leveque @ the Times and he just left after I went on the record with my case. He is doing a story on security/protection of vet records at VA hospitals and other facilities as this will coincide with the incident in Indy. the emphasis being that my psychotherapy notes are out there floating around..vs. identity theft. [good luck to whoever and if they could get money, it won't be much....]he w…

Independent Medical Opinion (imo)
Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) I hope all of you had a relaxing Thanks Giving, and could be with family and friends and for those who have loved ones who have passed away (my self included), I hope you all managed as best as possible. I have a question or two about IMO. I have read Berta’s post about this and I did get a very well written letter (IMO) from my doctor. I am wounding if the VA will treat this as an IMO. I say this because, the doctor that wrote it has treated me in the past to include surgery’s and has written a note for me in the past that was not very specific. Does the IMO have to be from a doctor that you have never seen in order to qualify …

Vets Dental Care Limited
Dear Sgt. Shaft: I was looking for VA benefits for dental care and I don't think there are any for me. I would like to have your opinion on this subject. I served just under four years in the Air Force (1968-1971) and received an honorable discharge. I'm willing to pay a co-payment for the service. I live in Delaware. I'd appreciate any help. Sgt. Gary M. Dear Sgt. Gary: I forwarded your query to the top tooth doc at Veterans Affairs and the following is his response. For most veterans, VA dental care is limited to a one-time episode of care, providing application is made within 90 days after discharge and the veteran had not received dental care immediat…

How To Handle This?
The VA denied claim for depression/anxiety again, saying that I had submitted medical evidence in support of my claim, but that it was not material evidence. I noticed that they are still not giving me credit for much of my military service. I had sent in a chronological dates of service/medical history chart as well as the form showing cumulative duty and retirement points. This was not listed as used when considering my claim on letter by VA. I'd be interested in your suggestions on next moves. Is it in my best interest to send in all my dd 214s as new evidence? Or file nod? Also, the medical evidence was letter from phychologist determining that My 'personality …

Emergency C&p Advice Needed
HELP!!! I've received a letter dated 12 SEP notifying me of a VARO C&P in Gainesville FL, to be conducted on 5 OCT. The problem is that I'm on short final for a civilian deployment to Afganistan, departing on 29 SEP. I'll be in DC getting briefings from the 17th to the 25th, and won't be able to change my schedule at all. What will the VA do if I don't make their appointment? I'm sure I need to notify them, certified return receipt, that I'm not going to be in the country. Are they going to cut me off? Reevaluate me in a negative fashion in absentia? Do I need a lawyer? I'm really worried about this. I feel like I'm about to get the cruddy end o…

hypertension Should I Get My Ratings Combined Into One Rating?
Hi, I have one questions here, I get 10% for hypertension and 10% for anxiety. I believe the hypertension is caused by my anxiety because when i take my BP readings there low at home. My question is, is it better for me to keep 2 seperate ratings or to get the hypertension one combined with the anxiety one, and if i do get them combined what would my precentage then become, meaning would anxiety go up to 20% or stay at 10%?

Iris Question
I would like to know if the VARO that you are dealing with keeps copies of the questions that you ask on IRIS and if they keep their reponses on file in your claim file? Or do they work by exception, and only keep what they deem important enough to keep. Thanks.
