War On The Va Challenge
I pledge to track Indiana politicians on their actions for Veterans. I am challenging others on this board to pledge to do the same for their state. Any thoughts? We can keep each other aware of what the politicians are doing and what they are not doing and publish telephone numbers when an important issue is coming up and send a message to these people that WE will not be ignored anymore, nor will we be split by our conflicts we served in, and that the voting Veteran block will stand united to elect officials that are committed to keeping the promises made to Veterans. We are all a family and WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN.

Morning Reports?
Would a copy of a morning report that shows that someone was on sick call that specific day help prove a claim, when the medical records for that specific day have been misplaced. Paul

Va Claims Backlogs Vary Widely,
VA CLAIMS BACKLOGS VARY WIDELY,DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE. Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Montgomery, Ala., have some of the longest VA claims backlogs in the country. But Washington, D.C., is the worst, with 6 out of 10 claims taking more than six months to resolve, says AMVETS The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ inventory of pending claims and their average time pending have increased significantly in the past three years, according to the Government Accounting Office. But actual delays experienced by veterans vary widely across the country, according to the VA’s own statistics. Unbeknownst to veterans in Fargo, N.D.; Boise, Idaho; and P…

Va Appointment And Lab Work
Today, I had a lab appointment at 7 AM and woke up late. Got there at 8AM and had lab done at 8:45 had breakfast and went to see Doc. She saw me at 9:45 but she was very patient and we went over a couple of problems which I think she fixed on spot. I mentioned my cough and she changed Lisnopril. She also upped my gabapentin and prescribed Clartan in case my cough was caused by post nasal drip. She examined my feet checked my heart and lungs. All in all a very pleasant trip to VA today. I pretty much like this Doctor as she explains why she does things and it usually makes sense to me. She also did a consult cause I have toe fungus on my nail. I think that the VA is …

Misdirected Funds
Has anyone else had the VA deposit your money in the wrong account or wrong bank? My decision notice was stamped Nov 1st. I received it Nov 2nd (way to go post office!). I called the 800 number on the 2nd to check my direct deposit information since I had changed banks since first filing my claim. They said they had no bank information on record at all. I went ahead and gave them my current routing number and account. They updated it in the computer and assured me the first check always comes by mail. About a week later I still had a nagging feeling something would get screwed up and called them again. I explained that my bank had changed since I first filed and …

My Pain Mgt Apt.
I posted this some wheres else but, I went to my Pain Mgt today and they did there exam and this Dr kjhguiuitiza looked at my MRI and said, "I don't think this is your MRI this is a great looking back nothing looked to be wrong?" This MRI didn't have where I broke my back in 91 or fusions or bone spurs in the spine canal in the lumbar region, just a MRI that said none of this existed with my name on it. Just when I thought after all that has happen in the VA, there is no way something could be that bad for me. Here I am waiting on a claim this Dr. Drops bomb on me like that and I'm thinking this same MRI went to my C-file? This is insane. Think about it I get screwe…

Unusual Info From 800#
My claims are with a DRO but today the 800# told me that my AO claim went on Nov 15th-to the original DRO who sent me a Copy and paste De Novo-in 2005 which I asked the VA to CUE- and then they gave my rep an informal conference with her-(2005) and AGAIN my medical evidence remained completely ignored-long story but this was one of the legal errors that got me a quick remand from the BVA last year- I just sent the VA an inquiry as I am still waiting for a response to a prior inquiry as to having an informal conference with the DRO- and pasted in the inquiry- the actual regs that prohibit a DRO from making another decision if they were the DRO who had made the first d…

Trauma Recovery Program
Ladies & Gents., Looking for FACTUAL comments concerning my recent post about being told my psychiatrist appointment being cancelled, and told appointment made for me instead with the trauma recovery program. I/we can speculate all day long--I want input from those that are familiar with the program, or attended same. Would like to know what would happen if I indicate to those in charge of the program AND my psychiatrist that I do not/will not attend ie... do I have a say in my mental health treatment without jeopardizing my current status/award? Thanks to all, Tanker31

Halliburton Gave Us Troops Foul Water, Workers Say
Halliburton gave US troops foul water, workers say By Vicki Allenhttp://www.reuters.com/ http://www.reuters.com/ Updated: 5:52 p.m. ET Jan. 23, 2006 WASHINGTON - A Halliburton Co. subsidiary provided water to U.S. troops at a camp in Iraq that was twice as contaminated as water from the Euphrates River, former employees of the company said on Monday. The subsidiary, Kellogg Brown and Root, also blocked employees' attempts to inform the U.S. military at Camp Junction City in Ramadi that the water was foul or tell them that water tanks should immediately be chlorinated, the workers said. They cited KBR's failure to test or treat the water in the latest in a series of…
