Three C&p's Scheduled, Two Ortho, One Psych.
I mean, the VA Medical Center has been taking care of me since the first of the year, and they have diagnosed Major Depression Disorder (that's the psych claim, secondary to pain resulting from my SC'd condition). So, they have been prescribing medication for my MDD, and it makes me better, as long as I take it regulary. Should I take it, and show up at my psych C&P appearing relatively "normal"? Then, the Ortho C&P's, same thing....the VAMC has been providing me with codiene and some other stuff (makes me better, takes away most of my pain, I can sleep 2 - 3 hours a night now). Same question, should I take my pain meds and show up at my Ortho C&P's "num…

ptsd Pay Hike Urged For Disabled Vets
I sent my state reps. my thoughts on the "Pay Hike Urged for Disabled Vets"..as stated "The first comprehensive review of veterans’ disability benefits in 51 years recommends that Congress and the Bush administration support an immediate increase in compensation levels – of up to 25 percent for the most severely disabled – to recognize monetarily their reduced quality of life. The Veterans Disability Benefits Commission’s report also wants all disabled veterans made eligible for “concurrent receipt” of both disability pay and an annuity based on years spent in service. It might take Congress years to implement the bulk of the commission’s proposals but it should v…

Commission Review (presumptive Disorder Process)
fwd from Kelly Commission Review (Presumptive Disorder Process) Review of the Disability Commission Report Dear Mr. I am attaching my very expedient review of the Disability Commission Report in order to get the review submittted. Many of the issues are good but some are catastrophic, especially the IOM/VA that it is of one philosophy of putting the word “causation†back into presumptive disorder establishment. This is wrong. As you know from my previous submittals this is not required by law or congress. Veterans have won that battle already and do not need to fight this all over again. Biological plausibility is one thing but c…

Va C-file
Hadit Members: Is it necessary to send your C-File to SSA for SSDI or does it matter? I am kind of confused here. I sent the authorization document in for release of information allowing the SSA access to my medical records from the VA. Should I have specified records at both the VA hospital "and" VA Regional Office? Do I need to request my C-File and send to SSA or do they automatically request them. I sent copies of the VA's decision of my 100% P/T award. Was this enough or did I omit something? jmack

PTSD is a major issue in the Veteran community today. I support efforts to further recognize and treat this condition. A university research program is conducting a brief survey. The graduate student overseeing the survey and her university shall remain anonymous as will the identity of any veteran who completes the survey. If you know of a Vet who is or may be diagnosed with PTSD, please pass along the link below. This shouldn't take more than a very few minutes to complete. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=K7I4...2xM_2bbrQ_3d_3d Again, this is totally anonymous, no names or emails are required and there is no follow up. This is only for basic res…
