Contacted My Local Varo
Greetings, I contcated my local VARO in regards to 2 appeals (I requested a DRO review) and 1 claim for AA. On Nov 13th they informed me that the appeals and claim are now with a ratings officer. I contacted them this morning and now they are telling me it went to DRO for ratings on November 23rd. I am unclear as to why it was at a ratings officver when I requested a DRO review and added a great deal of additonal edivence. Any thoughts? Thank you and God bless. Bound4Heaven

Opinions Please
On Oct 13 of this year I received an email response to my request on the the status of my I.U claim. The response from the VARO was " A decision has been made on your claim you should get a letter within two weeks." When I didnt hear from them thru last saturday I queried via email aagain. Just now i received the response that ("the claim has been rated and sent to the rating team, apparently a mistake was found because it was re-rated on 11 November. I'm sorry I told you two weeks , it was just an estimate.} Can anyone read into this ,particularly the part mentioning the re-rating on 11 November, whether this is a good or bad sign. Chewing on fingernails here.

Claims At Rating Board
Is there a timeline or a threshold maximum time that a claim can sit at a rating board? I mean when a claim is labeled ready to rate and sent to the rating board, should it not be decided within 6 months, a year, two years. How long can the claim just sit there? I've seen other veteran's claims be decided in a year including from date of claim, C&Ps, etc. Can the VA just leave your claim pending at the rating board forever and then just forget about you. Reason I say this is the veteran cannot obtain any further status once this happens and is just told to wait on the decision letter which should be soon. This has been going on for me for going on 21 months …

Help Needed (brain Operation) So Not Very Sharp
First I am totally and permantly disabled, is that considered 100%, Non Service conected, I draw Aid & Attendance too and may be a few fries shy of a happy meal, hehe, so please bear with me. I was on Medicaid benefits for 7 years before switching to VA Benefits as they payed more. I do not have a Medicaid card now. Can I get a Medicaid card just to pay for Doctor visits that the VA Clinic here in Panama City, FL does not supply. Everytime I need something, a Ex-Ray, eye glasses whatever they want me to go out of town to a VA hospital in ALA to get this done, I have a caregiver who can not see to drive at night and the old truck she drives probably would not make i…

Called 800 Number For Info
Well everyone I called the 800 number this morning to find out about my claims. They said they were rated and the POA or VSO had the information and that they couldnt tell me anything other than that since it was just rated this morning. I dont know if that means there wasnt enough time to input information in yet or what? What they did tell me though is that it was at the VSO's now. Only problem is all our VSO's are at training in a different city. So I cant find out until tomorrow what this is all about. Anyone know if thats standard procedure or practice after a claim is rated? I guess the big question is why would they send it to the VSO or POA and not tell me what…

Qtc? They Are Slower Than Varo
Does anyone have any experience with QTC doing their C&P exams. According to VARO they are the reason that my claims haven,t been being rated yet. Took exams in July and August and they have not been returened yet. Its amazing the ways the VARO finds to cause distress to vets. I wonder how they would feel if their pay was held up for months and years.

ptsd Iris May Of Just Set A Record
As some of you know I am appealing a 50% ptsd rating from feb. 2004. I filed a iu about two months ago. I filed an nod with knew evidence on my sc right knee injury, about ten weeks ago. Some way the appeal on the knee got lost or sent to the wrong department. To make a long story short my rep resent it a couple of weeks ago, and again it got lost. A few days ago I taked to a fellow at the ro and he ask me to have my rep fax it directly to him and he would personally put it in the computer. By now I don't trust anyone, so I e-mailed my ro in hunington wv. via iris. Believe it or not I got an e-mail back confirming it's arrival and intry into the compu…

Whats Up With This Strange Iris Reply?
In the last month I have gotten very odd responses from IRIS site: Such as this Inquiry and response Veteran/Inquirer 10/31/2006 07:47 AM First let me start by saying that I posted a question on this site about 2 weeks ago and received a rather odd response. I asked about the status of my existing claims from March 2005. The response was that this site does not give out information about claims. I was surprised because I have checked on the status of my claims about 6 times this year and everytime I received somewhat of a status report. I don't want to be a bothersome but I would like to see if I can find out the status of these claims again if I could. …
