Dan Rather
Tonight at 8:00 pm EST, Dan Rather will have a 1 hour show on HDTV on Vets getting screwed by the VA after discharge from the military. The bad part is , you must have HDTV to veiw this program, I think this new program was started by Mark Cuebing, it should be interesting. Rather was interveied on MSNBC about this and he seemed very disturbed by his findings as he said the show will be about "Veterans getting screwed".

Get Your Agent Orange Claim Approved
I know there are a lot of blue water Navy Veterans as well as Veterans who served in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam that have had their agent orange cases denied in the past, The only way you will ever overturn these denials is to read the Haas VS. NIcholson decision as promulgated by the US Court OF Appeals for Veterans Claims. I implore you as a Veteran and a Citizen to write yor Senators and Representative and tell them what we want .... This is a representative democracy....Make Them REPRESENT YOU. Make them change the laws on how your claim is decided... Haas Vs. Nichoson decision presently only rquires you to have a Vietnam Service Medal to presume you wer…

tinnitus Tinnitus
On a previous post 1968 said he was exposed to 107 arty. I was not familiar with that size arty. I calibrated the 105, 155, and 175mm all around the DMZ and I thought those were the only sizes availiable. A arty buddy of mine today told me that the 107's were like the 105's but the 107 could be transported by helicopters. It had a smaller base on a swivel instead of two long arms which made it more portable. It used the 105 rounds. 1968 I would hate for you to use the wrong info and give our friends at the VA a reason to deny your claim but as stated you are probably right using the 107 info. Take care. Duty To Notify
Is failure in the duty to notify part of the duty to assist stuff that is not a CUE? Or can it be one of those procedural errors that can be argued as a CUE? Thanks, Free

Not Quite A Cue Letter -- But Asking Them To Do Their Stuff
This letter is in response to the letter (xxx) I received dated September 19, 2006. I am working on obtaining additional evidence to submit in regard to this claim as per your request. The letter also indicates that in order to be material, the additional evidence must pertain to the reason my claim was previously denied – and in that my claim was previously denied because my service medical records do not show any respiratory problems in service or exposure to asbestos – that evidence I submit must relate to this fact. As this is the information requested, I will certainly send any information I can in respect to this. However, this also seems to be a significan…

diabetes New Ao Study Links More Diseases
http://vawatchdog.org/nfNOV06/nf111006-4.htm "NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Vietnam veterans who sprayed the herbicides like Agent Orange decades ago in Vietnam are at an increased risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and chronic breathing problems, a new study shows." What seems to be lacking here (I have not read the actual report yet) is the fact that AO was sprayed onto Vietnam vets in all branches -by air -by the US of A---or they got contaminated when they manuvered through the jungles that had been sprayed. The spraying maps of Vietnam that DOD released cover a considerable area. I dont see how they can isolate the sprayers from th…

No Straight Answer
Hi, I called the 800# and was told my file was ready to be assigned to a ratings specialist this week, I have called several times in the last several months and when the person at the 800# tells me this, the person is very upbeat , happy and says in effect, this is a great thing. Conversely, the CDVA rep tells me it will be months, months I tell you before any outcome. Additionally, the CDVA rep says it taked five years for an appeal...odd, I did not mention an appeal. It seems everyone has a different take on the situation. Any opinions on who the best source of disinformation is? Thank you.
