ptsd How To Get A Non-formulary Prescription?
I was diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus since 1999 and have been on medication ever since along with annual endoscopy performed by my private gastroenterologist. My gastro guy even furnished the VA with a diagnosis letter and the length of time I have had Barrett's. Anyway, my first medication for the Barrett's began in 1999 where I was prescribed Prevacid. After a couple years of taking it I experienced some severe side effects, some of which are know to be common side effects such as abdominal pain, diarreha, headaches, etc. along with chest pains, throat restrictions, unusual amount of mucus discharge, coughing, and severe IBS triggers. I switched to Prilosec in…

tdiu Tips On New Vso
Hi all! Same old whines from the vets wife about no hope in site for the VA claim. Went to doctor lately and more tests are set up to compare to the earlier tests. We called the VSO (VFW Joe Humphrey) in Louisville. He has told us all along that his job deals with when the case goes up in front of a board or court. He has not helped us otherwise except pushed a few papers thru. When we requested froms from him, he sent some of the pages for us to fill out - now in the permanent record it looks as if we left pages blank on purpose, etc. It goes on and on with him. We are due a SSOC and the on to Washington. We asked about a hearing and he said today that we had to write hi…

Trying To Do Away With Vets Getting Copies Of Their C& P Exams
Greetings to all, I was told by a person whom is in charge of a very large C&P clinic that the VAMC was going to test the waters by bringing forth issues that would disallow us disable vets from getting copies of our C&P exams. That the plan is as I was told was to allow acccess only after the decisions from the ROs have been decided. I know this was in reference to all my issues that were raise by incompendent N.P performing C&Ps and it was made sure I heard it. We all know who have battled the VA for our benefits. It would be much harder to get a decison reversed then to head it off at the pass, by immediately filing a complaint with the patents adv…

This is a link that might help understand those lab results. Sometimes we need to dig for gold. Might be some nuggets in them thar hills! http://www.amarillomed.com/howto.htm

Jcaho
Hello: I posted this question on social chat yesterday & thought I would try here too. Has anyone here heard of the organization JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations)? I saw their brochures sitting on the counter the last time I went to my VAMC mental health appointment. I have been told by members of another vet board that filing a complaint with this agency could cause my VA trouble. (I wish!) I just wondered if there were anything to this organization or if it were just so much PR fluff. Liz

Requesting Professional Profiles Of Va Examiners
I'm interested in trying to get a copy of a professional profile and/or statement of qualifications of each of my husband's VA physicians who examined him. Has anyone here ever done that in an effort to prove that a C & P Exam was flawed? Meaning that the person who performed the exam was not qualified in that particular area of medicine to render an opinion upon which a claim was subsequently denied. If so, did you write to the VARO, or to the VAMC? Or to the American Medical Association?
