ptsd Non Combat Ptsd
Hello everyone, I just wanted to start off by saying to all of you thank you for your service. I have a question regarding non combat ptsd. I am currently 30% for multiple trauma after being severly injured and knocked unconcious for 10 minutes from fracturing my skull after it went through a windshield i also broke both of my legs my hip and shoulder after being hit by a van as i was walking across the street on to the base. This accident happened in the mid to late 90's. I was awarded 30% in 2001. I got out in 2000, not a medical discharge. I was recalled back to active duty for one year after 911. I worked at job where I had to maintain a top secret clerance so I wa…

Audio Exam Bad Experience
Two weeks ago I had a Audio C&P everything appears to be similar to exam I had in 2009 with this exception. At the end of Verbal testing the VA Attendant doing the exam came into the sound proof room to complete a middle ear drum test which was air pressure (Unknown PSI). The Attendant put a device into my ear canal increased the air pressure. The device popped out the attendant put back in my ear canal and applied heavy hand pressure to hold device in place to complete the test My left ear had a very sharp pain during the test and I told her that the test was painful. But my right ear has been very uncomfortable since this test procedure for two weeks. …

ptsd Unemployability Comensation
I am trying to get raised to 70% for my PTSD or higher. If I do get the 70, I will be eligible for Unemployability I believe. My question for this is, if I do get unemployability, which would bring my payments up to 100% a month, will it be backpaid from the beginning of my claim, or would that only happen if I got a 100% rating? I confuse easily, this is probably a simple question, but I'm just seeing what the process is.

Missing Work Coverage For Va Exams?
Hey ya'll! I should have looked for a place like this a long time ago...well I will get right to the point. Is there any coverage, rules, or regulations governing work absence to go to a VA appointment? I hate nickel and diming my time off to go to appointments, but I need to get on the ball with this stuff. I am in the process of appealing one of my claims and I need to make appointments to go to the Dr to be re-evaluated, and also because of the riduculous pain in my back, which is the claim I am appealing. The closest VA hospital is almost 2 hours from me, so a quick trip there in the morning doesn't cut it. I work 2:30pm until 11pm, and getting up at 7 to get to DC…

ptsd Mississippi Scale For Combat Rated Ptsd
After getting a copy of my C&P (review), I noticed a section in my review that stated this: "The veteran completed the Mississippi Scale for Combat Related PTSD with a raw score of 157. A cutoff score of 107 is proposed for Vietnam Veterans; therefore his performance suggests a high level of PTSD symptoms experienced currently. This is in comparison to previous administrations of the Mississippi with raw scores of 119 on 9-12-08 and 162 on 12-31-09. The results of psychometric testing support interview data and suggest the symptoms remained in the severe range since the last exam. Can someone please help me understand this? Will this statement help with my …

C & P
C and P exam on June 10. I have done plenty of reading on this site and everyone says just be yourself on a bad day. I agree, but with the day bearing down it all makes sense why others express their feelings when this day approaches. My thoughts are hard to gather as it comes closer. I sit back and just keep heeding the advice before me. Letting go in the office of another person who you do not trust is daunting at best. Took six months to open up with my therapist. I want to do what I have done for 25 years and walk in and say it is alright but in truth it is not the case. Talking about the incident and all the years of messing up will be hard. Thoughts of suicide and …

ptsd Iu Deferred For 1 Day
Hey guys Im really confused at this. first time I ever went in front of the board. C+P exam scheduled 3 hours lasted 4.5 with Doc saying it was the longest C+P he had ever done. As I was leaving he handed me some ptsd groups papers and told about different locations to go to group. C+P was in March I got it in May. The question I have is my paperwork said I was rated at 80% IU was deferred. The very next day I get a letter from the VA stating "We are working on your claim for IU" I figured I guess they are starting it for me. I went to the DAV to find out what was going on He told me that they probably already considered me IU but that form needs filled out to put in th…

How Do I Get A Disability Rating
I am sure this has been addressed somewhere, but I could not find it on the board. I retired about 5 years ago w/close to 22 years active duty (USN), currently 46 years old. I was an Aviation Electronics Tech and worked on A/C. When discharged I received no disability rating. My hearing stinks and is declining and I believe that Aircraft noise is a factor. I also have some issue w/pain in my elbow that was addressed once very early on in my career and has now returned. What steps do I need to take see if I can get a disability rating? I want to get it right the first time through. I was never a sick bay commando, so my medical file is rather thin and I am not…

One Year Rule After Service And Sc
OK, I guess I am a bit confused with the one year rule. What is the purpose of the one year rule and filing for claims? I filed all of my claims after I retired from service and met the one year rule. I am your typical jarheard so of course going to sick bay unless you are dying was not an option and highly discouraged. I had my C&P exams about 2 weeks ago and afterwards requested a ROI. I received them yesterday and was thrilled to see that most (about 95%) of my claims were diagnosed in my favor. However, the examiners opinion on most were those famous quotes "IS NOT CAUSED BY OR A RESULT OF active duty military service". WTF over. So, despite getting all my…
