After The Emg/nerve Study?
I file a claim to increase my rating in left knee due to another Surgery for tourn Cartlage. The VA scheduled a C/P and I went they where looking at the leg for other reason such as loss of feeling and pain. I resenly had spinal fusion of the L-4 and L-5. Since the fusion on a follow-up visit the nero doc stated the bones didn't fuse quickly ennough and the bones shifted causing them to agian inpinge on the nerve. He claimed that the impingment was causing the pain as before. This is the second surgery on my back in the last two years. I was rated already 50% on the back and didn't file for anything additional because I figured that I was already at the max except the Con…

Pension Vs Disability
I am talking to various vet reps and getting a different story from everyone. I am told on one hand I cannot receive unemployment or work while waiting out disability determination, then told by other reps that I can do both. Is there a difference in this regard between applying for a disability rating / non service connected pension and an SC pension? No one seems to be on the same page as anyone else.

I'm not trying to be negetive but thought many might want to know about this. Im not asking for complaints only if your not aware for others. Advice For Vietnam Vet Who Recently Suffered A Stroke
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if my questions have already been answered elsewhere, or if I'm posting in the wrong place - this seemed to be the most appropriate forum for my question. I'm actually new to this whole VA benefits thing - I've been doing a lot of research, but there is so much info and it is so complex, I feel like the more I read the more confusing it becomes. So here's my story. On Dec 7, my dad had a brain stem stroke that left him in a very bad condition. He cannot speak or swallow, his left side is paralyzed, and his breathing is very labored at times due to the fact that he cannot clear the congestion from his lungs. He is on a …

Mri On Spine
I need help with understanding my MRI I had done on my spine, back in june of 2009 please. Please note that I have filed a claim with the VA 6 months ago and do have numerous problems since my return from Afghanistan in 2007. I am currantly going to the spine center in Athens, Ga every six weeks for shots in my spine with no improvement at all. I can walk no more than two to three hundred yards without great pain and fear that it is only getting worse as time goes on. MRI reads as follows. Findings: There is mild anterior wedging deformity with chronic appearance of L1 including superior end plate Schmorl's node. There is 1-2mm of retropulsion of the posterior supe…

Tinnitus
I had a Tinnitus C & P Exam. I was a 0331 USMC machinegunner. I recieved the CAR, PUC, and NAM for service in Iraq. The letter sent to the VA Audiologist stated that excessive noise exposure was conceded due to military occupational specialty. I also had my private audiologist letter that stated "My impression is mild slightly asymmetric sensorineural hearing loss bilaterally with bilateral tinnitus. It is my opinion that his condition is at least as likely as not a result of noise exposure while in the military." The VA audiologist stated that "It is in my opinion that the veterans tinnitus is less likely as not caused by military noise exposure. Rationale: …

Applying For Nscp
I am being pushed by the psychiatrist and counselor at my VA site to apply for the non service connected pension (I am Vietnam era vet) on the basis of depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and emotional problems relative to Aspergers syndrome interfering with employment. They said they will support the application done through the local VFW rep. I also have some physical symptoms as documented through VA treatment. A few questions: 1. My VA treatment site is the regional office. Does that mean the psyche recommending I apply would also do the c&p? If so seems I would have a much greater chance of getting the disability. 2. What is the 70% or abo…

Starting My C & P Process
Good day Hadit, I have spent several hours reading around here, and I have to admit that I have never seen a forum where the other members are as helpful and patient as you all are here. I filed for Tinnitus, Vertigo, ROM for Neck and Pain, ROM and pain for both shoulders and wrist pain. Fortunately I have good entries in my medical records to back these up! From the time that I filed (I chose the DAV to represent me) to getting actual appointment, maybe 4 weeks went by, that was a pleasant surprise. I had my first appointment yesterday with the ENT clinic. I was met by a MD, she was very pleasant for the hour and a half I was with her. She wanted to …
