ptsd Filed Claims Today- Need Advice
Hi, I'm currently rated at 60% (2008) for my skin which the VA calls ezema, and 0% for right knee injury w/ traumatic arthritis (1995). Today I put in a claim for an increase on my knee and I also initiated a claim for anxiety disorder. The VA gave me a knee brace earlier this year. My primary care doctor had me on Naproxen for the pain, but orthopedics took me off and put me on Diclofenac last month. I'm schedule for a MRI in December. I know for an increase, I have to show that my knee condition has worsened. I feel it has. Does anyone know what the C & P for a knee injury consist of. Its been so long since I was originally rated that I dont remember. Any advi…

Received Comp & Pen Appointments
Hello, everyone, I hope someone can help me out. I received a letter from the Syracuse NY VAMC yesterday inviting me to attend 4 compensation and pension appointments in the next few weeks. One of them was for the audiology clinic, so that is pretty easy to figure out. Two of the appointments just show "SY-COMP DOROTHY CHAMPNEY Clinic", and one reflects an appointment with "SY-CALL GAOD NC Clinic". The instructions state that I should bring "pertinent lab or x-ray reports performed outside the VA system", but nowhere is there any indication of what they may be looking at. I know I can call them tomorrow and, perhaps, find some answers, but I just wonder if anyone …

Plain White Pages Mixed Within C File?
I have found several plain white / no print pages mixed within my "C" File. The flashing alarm light comes on "Could I have missing data" or is this a common problem within VA coping process? Thanks again for any replies Ken

How Long To Get Copy Of "c" File?
It has been two years since I filed my 21-526. In August 2009 I files my NOD. In August 2009 I requested a copy of my "C" file and still waiting? My local VSO is no help he is appointed by the county government board, family connection. An Attorney told me that I should not use any of my state political aids, that would just red flag my file and slow it down. This has been a very discouraging process and even more difficult to stay motivated to push your claims. Thanks for any replies Ken1

hypertension Decision Delayed?
I'm 70% for sleep apnea, migraines and a bad hip. I'm also noncompensable service connected for hypertension. I recently filed a new claim for heart bypass surgery and coronary artery disease secondary to my service connected hypertension. I've already had the new C & P exams for my new claim: heart stress test, ekg, xrays, etc. So as I was waiting patiently for a decision from the VA, I get notified that they want to do a C & P exam to reevaluate the severity of my migraines (from my original claim). My question is, will the C & P exam to reevaluate my migraines delay the decision for my new claim? <_<

One Good C&p, One Bad
The description describes my problem. The first C&P exam I had seemed to go fine and I was not prepared for what happened at a later one. The examiner got angry about a question I asked, stiff armed me in the abdomen with the heel of their hand, rolled all their weight up onto me and held the position for about 10 seconds. It seemed a lot longer because I have an enlarged spleen, and it was all I could do to hold the weight off my organs. They never said a word. I was stunned and wasn't able to say anything. Since then I've looked up at least six ways to palpate or test for an enlarged spleen and none of them are like what happened. I have never been intentionally …

Disability Pay Question
I have a question, I am retiring and the main things I am claiming are hearing loss/tinnitus, lumbago(lower back pain), and pertygium with vision loss. If I were to say get rated at 20% would i get the money or do they subtract it from my retirement pay and make it not taxable? Like say I get $200 for 20%. It would be better to get cash in my opinion. I know 50% they get a payment but what about 20%. I don't think i will get close to 50%. My fault for staying in shape..haha. But seriously, I am confused about this. I though they changed the law(concurrent reciept). Thanks

Possible New Claim But Getting Nowhere Fast
Don't know where to begin, but I will give it a try. I currently have a 30% disability with the VA for high blood pressure and 11th and 12th vertebrae fusion. Last Monday I had a SVT heart ablation operation performed, it failed, and a permanent 2 wire pacemaker was installed. I was diagnosed prior to the procedure with svt and sudden cardiac death (6 second pauses in the heart). I called my DAV rep in Big Springs, TX and he needs a statement indicating a possible connection with my high blood pressure and svt/scd. I have very low blood pressure as well because of the low heart rate when scd is present. I contacted my civilian cardiologist this morning and got a c…

Requesting Copy Of C&p Exam
Question: My exam results were forwarded back to the AMC after completed. When I called to inquire about a copy I was told that if they had to pull the file to get a copy of the exam, it would delay my claim. Is this true? I thought I could get one after a couple weeks from the outpatient clinic where the exam took place, but was told it was no longer there. Any ideas??? Blackbird

Bipolar C&p Exam
I am afraid I messed up my C&P exam with a PDOC. I was only able to answer a few questions. The PDOC asked me what I was prescribes for my mania. I could not believe it- I was actually manic. I only remember the examiner saying "I'll have to get the rest out of your records. Was at 80% overall. Now I feel my bipolar, panic and depression :D exam will hurt my chances for IU. Can anyone give me any help on how to retake this C&P exam?
