Guidelines
Do not give advice contrary to the law. Such as lying to VA or SSA or working under the table for cash in order to hide your employment status from government agencies. Such postings will be deleted, further posting will result in a ban from the forum.
- No Flaming (Negative comments about other members, other boards, or other sites.)
- No vulgar language
- No offensive verbal assaults
- No sexual connotations
- No personal attacks
- No political discussions we are not a political forum our focus is VA disability claims. Political discussions lead to flame wars, it takes up valuable space and is not what this board was set up for. There are many other boards to discuss politics, this is not one of them.
- No religious testimonials or discussions of one faith against another. There are other sites for this.
Please take a minute to read through this it will explain how to make posts that will get you answers.
Note: Your firsts posts on the board may be delayed before they show up, as they are reviewed, this process does not take long and the review requirement will be removed usually by the 6th post, though we reserve the right to keep anyone on moderator preview. This process allows us to remove spam and other junk posts before they hit the board. We want to keep the focus on VA Claims and this helps us do that.
I know you are anxious to jump into the forum, but these tips will help you get to it a lot faster.
Our Home Page has articles that may answer your question. Use the search box at the top of the page to find answers faster.
Do not give advice contrary to the law. Such as lying to VA or SSA or working under the table for cash in order to hide your employment status from government agencies. Such postings will be deleted, further posting will result in a ban from the forum.
1. Post a clear title like 'Need help preparing PTSD claim' or "VA med center won't schedule my surgery" instead of 'I have a question'.
Knowledgable people who don't have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn't clear in the title.
I don't read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.
2. Use paragraphs instead of one huge, rambling introduction or story.
Again - You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.
Leading to:
3. Post clear questions and then give background info on them.
Example is:
A. I was previously denied for apnea - Should I refile a claim?
I was diagnosed with apnea in service and recived a CPAP machine but claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?
B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?
I was involved in traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

Everyone won't agree on many things, but the one thing we should agree on is that we are here so that no brother or sister veteran gets left behind, not on a jungle trail, not on a desert trail and not on a paper trail." Tbird
The biggest component of HadIt.com to help veterans is our very active discussion forum. Over 7500 (as of March 2011) registered users, with an average of about 200 posts per day. New Registrations average about 200 members per month.
Please note that the discussion forum is made up of veterans just like you, they come to HadIt.com and its discussion forum from all over the world. Some come to ask questions, some come to help do research for other vets, some to answer questions, others come for the sense of community that HadIt.com provides and still others come just to provide an ear and shoulder to those veterans who have become weary.
There are some folks who for whatever reason sign on to discussion forums to cause disruption. However, we still have this problem the best advice is ignore them; they want a fight, a response, don't give it to them. We have an ignore user feature, you can look up any member by name and click to ignore them.
New members posts are moderated and not visible to all members until the staff can review a few posts to make sure it is not a spammer, troll or some other divisive individual.
HadIt.com's discussion forum is "User Friendly" as long as posters do not cause division. We are not into censorship. We simply need to set forth some guidelines. These are aimed at maintaining harmony on the Web Forum.. When one person disrupts many then we feel it's time to take action.
Remember that most that come to our discussion forum have been wounded in one way or another. Be kind to each other, if angered take a day to respond. Personal attacks are not what we are about; we are about helping our brother and sister veterans.

Hi Berta
Hello Berta, It has been quite some time since i last posted here. hello to all that have helped and remember me (jbasser, asknod, carlie, and others that I cannot remember.) I have just received confirmation that my NOD has been received. Thats not my question. Some time ago I was hearing that VA was attempting to deny any IMO's from DR. Bash. Is this still true? I know how much respect that you have for Craig but i want to be sure. I am about to get a sign, recycle some cans, (haha Carlie) and do whatever I can to gain an IMO from him. I hear that he is rather expensive but in your wise words "An accurate IMO is worth any amount of money …

Interesting Bva Case On Probative Value
This is an interesting claim. And it has already been up through the Federal Court and back. What is interesting is that even after all that - it is still being remanded to give the VA one more chance to write a medical opinion that is sufficient to deny the claim, and give adequate reasons and bases for doing so. Some things I found interesting is that the Court did not consider the VA examiner stating that studies were not conclusive to be probative evidence. So it is part of that lack of evidence is not negative evidence argument. I don't know how many claims I have read where the BVA relied on the opinion of the examiner saying that studies didn't show that x cau…

Imo? Or Va Doc? And Need Advice On Timing
Good evening all, I'm currently rated at 20% for Fibromyalgia (FM) and 10% for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). I fit the definition for 40% for FM and 60 for CFS that I find on the eCFR. As a Gulf War vet these are presumptive conditions. All I should need is a statement in VA-speak with the proper levels included. I also have a 0% for eczema, but discovered that I may qualify for 60% if I interpret the definition on the eCFR correctly. Background: I filed for those conditions as soon as Congress changed the law to make them presumptive for the Gulf War vets. I filed a NOD in mid December of 2012, requesting the De Novo process to review and adjust th…

Update To Is This Neglect
I contacted a law firm that advertised speciality in vet cases. I gave the nurse my info, and I recived a letter from the lawyer stating the statue of limitations has ran out. I thought I had 2 years to file after I realized I had been wronged. In my case it was june 21 2013 although the wrong done by the va was 10 years ago, I was unaware I needed a cpap machine until 6-21-13 at the dr visit when she seen the old records, and I have since pulled all my records and it verifies the doc never followed up on sending the results of the test, to get the machine and also a titration study was supposed to have been done before dering a cpap machine , and the va doc never done t…

Suggest A Doctor For Imo
I've been trying to get a hold of Dr. Bash for about a week, but no luck. Can anyone suggest another doctor that can do a good, strong, VA friendly IMO? I am overseas currently, so I need someone that I can mail my records to and have them reviewed. I have statements from my doctors here, but they don't speak English well so the statements are not as strong, or VA friendly, as they should be. The two things I need an IMO on are Eczema and Migraines. Thanks.

Is This Neglect?
My va doc ordered a sleep apnea test in 2003. The study showed i had sleep apnea and my o2 sat level dropped to 88% while asleep. The doc says she ordered a cpap machine but the order was cancelled, didn't know why ,never followed up on this since 2003 until now. I am rated at 100%, part of which is cardiac related and previous lung cancer with removal of part of r lung in 2001, due to agent orange. I had asked her on follow up apts with her in 03 and 04 about my test results, she said she could not find them. Two different cardiologist and my private family doc have asked me in the past if i had been tested for sleep apnea, i told them yes by the va but i must not have sl…

Before Or After A C/p Exam?
Hi all Question is for my dw who has a c/p exam scheduled for june. This is a claim to upgrade her CFS 40% sc and shoulder pain 10 sc. There has been a progression of symptoms and lots of treatment. We want to go with a IMO/IME and am trying to figure out timing. Is it ok to do that now or should we wait until we have the c/p results? Would the c/p examiner look at a IME as part of his/her exam? Second part. She has also been dx with fibromiligia. This was dx after her first rating, however the symptoms were there prior to discharge and I think a nexus letter will be pretty easy to form. So here is the question- we dont want to delay the current claim by a…
