Well I did look at the ebenefits , and just like JUSTRLUK, that is, IT IS coming out of Atlanta. But I see my 50% rate is jumping $13.00 to $810.00 per month, paid Dec. but it did not show up at the bank as $810.00 ,,, so maybe 1 Jan. it will be there.
-
I feel your pain, I stop going to ebenefits. Mine is so mired down and just sitting there. I did what they asked, and sent in all they asked for, still nothing will it ever change? Total waste on my time going there
-
Georgiapapa it is not what you sent in in question. I think you did a great job proving you claim. The problem is the Atlanta office.there motto is "deny deny till you die". I also have the Atlanta office as my VARO, and they are lazy, non caring about Vietnam veterans. Sometimes I wished I could select another office to handle my claims. My hearing claims went from 1983 to 2010. So good luck and hadit has your back.

well mine was just quite drifferant, the QCT Dr. did not want to talk about my stressers. We went over everything 2-3 times but no stressers. I asked why he wasn't asking about my time in VN, he said he has talked to several daog handlers and he knew the stress load we was under, and knew what my stressers are. I was in his office for about 45 min. BTW, I have not heard from the VA on this, so I guess they are looking at what he wrote. I will ask for a copy as soon as I can. Good luck.

CAPT. C,
I must ask, are the service only for those who served in Irag, A fganistan, Oif/oef? I was thinking out loud what about us Viet Nam veterans? I think it would sure be a help if there was a service like that for us. If there is, sorry for the question. Just never heard of it.
-
Thanks Capt C.. for you input.
My PTSD C&P Dr. asked me why I haven't file for AO. I told him I needed to get what I file for approved or denied. I told him all it would do it slow down the process on the claims I have in.

Georgiapapa & Chuck today I had a physcial done by a QTC contractor. This was done on behalf of my claim for hypertension and blood pressure. All was going fine until the Dr. asked me about my kidney diease. WOW was I surpise, I did not know I had KD and that is what I told him. He said it was on the papers from the VA leading up to this physical. I think I am going to my private Dr. next week and have him to run some test and find out was is going on. More update will follow.

well here we go again, I had my second C&P, 2 in 3 days. The first one was QTC for PTSD, second one was high blood pressure and hypertension seconary to PTSD. But here is the biggie, the Dr today asked me how long I have had kidney diease, I said I did not know I had KD. he replyed well that is one things we are looking at on the request. Boy, how things get screwed up. I told him I did no I had HYPERTENSION or high blood pressure till I had my first meeting with the VA Dr. back last year. I told him I have been going to the MH clinic since last Feb. and was still under treatment. So can anyone give me any insight/ thouight on this? Thanks

Well like Dano I will be going on medicare 6/2013. I am going to convert my Blue Cross/Blue Shield as seconary to medicare. I will use the VA medical service as much as I can, but will rely on med/BCBS most of the time.

BTW John, my dog was a big solid black shepard, weighed about 65 #. I know I had to carry him when he hurt his paw. I would not let him walk on it.
-
FUNNY JOHN, really they was trained to hate the VC. You was safe, unless you tried to handle him. I would put on his muzzle when we was in camp and take it off when guarding a prisoner. Lobo, my dog name, only bit one GI. The soldier reach out to get me and my dog took that as an attack. The guy was OK he just got a nip on his fingers. So any idea on what I can expect from the C&P I had today?
-
Ok brothers and sisters, I had my C&P today, and boy was I surprised. Th Dr asked lots of questions, but mostly about family history. and if I have ever be in trouible with the police, or jail time, no to both questions. We talked about my depression and anxiety sleeping problems. I told him I was up at 3:30 this morning and have not been back to sleep. I told him I woke up to screaming noise, and looked around the house and out side,,, nothing was found. He is the kicker, he did not want to talk about my time in Viet Nam.He said he has interviewed several dog handlers in the past and knew what we went thru, and there no reason to bring it all back out. I liked that as I was afraid things would go bad from there. OVER ALL I think all went ok. Thanks for all the help I have gotten from here.

Thanks Carlie, your words are helpful and reassuring. I will post back the results as I see them.

Ok since I was asked to re post this in the right place , well here I am. AS stated before I got a C&P on hypertension and PTSD this week and not worrried about the hypertension , but I am about the PTSD. I know that I am getting stress out over this. As stated before I hate to start talking about things I have buried for over 40 years. I just like to keep the demons in hiding, but I know that not what going to happen. I know all I have to do is tell the truth and I will. But if I am asked about dates on some of the fire fights, I be loss. I can't rermember that for back, nor did I keep a diary of things I did while in Viet Nam. Oh well thanks for letting me vent a little.
-
OK sorry thanks for reminding me.
-
Well I got notice that I have a C&P for PTSD and HYPERTENSION this coming week. I am not getting up tight about the hypertension, but am on the PTSD. I know all I have to do is tell the truth, but I hate having to relive what I have been burying for so long. I just feel the demons will come out and I will not be able to control myself. I know I should just relax and tell everything that is going on. So I guess time will tell. But if anyone wishes to give me some advice or suggestions, I am open for anything.

Hi I have file a claim for PTSD back in MAY. I have not had nor am I schedule for and C&P. But I would like to know if someone has any hard copies of some questions that I can buy. I would like to learn what type of questions I be asked. If anyone does please PM me and we can talk. Thanks
-
thanks Grid for the explanation, my date was changed from NOV. 15 to Feb 2013
-
Good question, I also have both and have not had a C&P yet, still waiting since May of this year.
-
hello Berta, so glad you are back. we hope you did ok from the storm.
-
Good luck papa, I got a CUE in now . I was denied back in 83 on my hearing. I found a internal memo from one VA offical to another who said to cancel my C&P and deny the claim. I sure hope this falls in your favor and mine. BTW they did reopen my claim in 2008 and awarded me SC for my hearing.
-
That was my thinking, I guess I need reassurance. thanks
-
Ok just asking here, but here goes. I am rated at 50% now and if I get a rating of 30% for PTSD that will put it to 65 by the calculator on here, so would that be rounded up to 70%. But if I get 50% on PTSD and 50% that I have that will go to 75% will that go up to 80%. I know it is rounded up or down. Thanks for the help.

My memory is so long gone, I can't pull a date out if I had to. I remember the events but not the dates. I, like other was in and out of the jungle that dates wasn't important and a diary damn wasn't important then. Saving your life and your buddies was. So why must we prove anything by dates, our DD 214 should be proof enough. To me just another way to deny a claim.
Getting Seen For Ptsd?

Eric do get into PTSD clinic as soon as you can. I have been in treatment since Feb 20011. I just had my C&P last NOV. by a CTQ doctor. This meeting was fairly short to me, the dr. did not want to go over my stressers, he said he knew what they was as he has seen several dog handlers from the Viet Nam area war. I still go to group meeting every 2 months. So hang in there, and good luck.
