First Disability Claim Timeline
doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
This is the first time I ever filed a claim. There are some on there that are there just because. My main disability/claim is PTSD and Panic Disorder. I got the at least as likely (50% or greater), deficiencies in "Most" areas and a GAF of 45. NO private records needed as most of my appoint were at the VA. I have no idea which RO I have, Is there a way to look that up? -
What meds work for you? I am currently on nortriptyline and lorazepam (ativan). The doctor just prescribed Paxil but after the pharmacy warned of a moderate risk of mixing nortriptyline and paxil I have waited before I start the Paxil. I want to talk to the doc about tappering off the nortripyline before I take the paxil. I am wondering what others are taking and how well it works... This post does nothing if you don't comment

There Is A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
doubleD replied to 82airborne's question in PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Claims
you are not the only one who feels that way. You just have to recognize it and walk away when it's overwhelming. Push your limits each time. Take control of your life...one moment at a time! I would have to say that your meds aren't right for you, everyone reacts differently to different meds. They might seem like they are helping a little but don't sound like they are doing much for you... Paxil was a life saver for me...all the other ones celexa, prozac, zoloft and many others DID NOTHING I was at the end of my ropes until I found the one that worked for me! Ask if you can try a different antidepressant and maybe something for your anxiety like xanax or ativan. I am still having issues but they are at a level far below what they used to be. Don't give up! -
that's funny, but it's not....I agree!

First Disability Claim Timeline
doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
yes, i went to the release of information office before I left the building, signed the release form and asked them to mail it to me as soon as the doctors completed their notes. My appoint was on a friday and I got my copies in the mail on tuesday. On Saturday my status changed on ebenefits I just don't know how long I am looking at waiting. That is why I started this topic, in hopes people would post their recent timeline so I could get a rough idea. -
It seems like a lot of the post I am seeing are for an additional claim and staus. I was hoping to get a more accurate timeline of the new claims. I filed my first claim in Oct '12, I had my first C and P in Sept '13 and a my claim moved from "gathering evidence" to "prep for decision" a week after my c and p exam. Here I am waiting... What has your timeline been? My timeline:initial claim filed 10.2.2012 Edit: 10.4.2013 claim moved to "pending decision approval" Edit 2: 10.10.2013 Preparing notification Edit 3: 10.17.2013 Complete on ebenefits showing 70% Cleveland RO

No I am not gainfully employed. I was fired from my last job but wasn't anything I did ..just Politics. What happens if I wasn't employed at the time of C&P but later get a job? My family cannot live solely on my husbands income. -

doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
At the time I wrote this, I didn't have that information. I have since received the copy of my C&P exam, I have "at least likely as"(50% or greater) for the ptsd/anxiety/depression as well as "deficiencies in most areas" and GAF of 45. Thanks for humoring me:) -

Mine also had almost everything the same including the GAF score. So I am a little more hopeful but wish I knew now! -

ptsd Test Your Guessing Skills
doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
I have done tons of research on the internet and haven't found anything that helps with my panic. Of course, I have been going to a VA Doctors... so maybe if I can get the disability rating... I will be able to afford going to a real doctor. -
What Happens After C&p Exam
doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
I already received my copy of the C and P exam for PTSD, depression and anxiety. With all the reading I have done on this web page I will guess I'm getting 50-70%? It has the "at least as likely as not" (50% or greater probability) and " Occupational and social impairment with deficiencies in MOST areas...". GAF 45 I think most, if not all, the boxes were checked on the exam sheet. I can only hope for TDIU. Hope for the best expect the worst! -
What happens after the initial C and P exam? What is the expected wait time for each step of the process?

I don't wear them because they feel funny in my ear which causes itching NOT because I care what people think! . Next time I go to war I will be sure to ask the enemy to wait so I can put in my hearing protection. -
ptsd Test Your Guessing Skills
doubleD replied to doubleD's question in Veterans Compensation & Pension Exams
I posted a list of my claims in the original post. I think the reason for the three C&P exams is because there were physical claims (one doctor) mental health claims (second doctor) and hearing claims (third doctor). Yes, I am an OEF Vet! I don't have any help with the claims as of right now. If I have to file an appeal I will definitely need to find some:) I may have screwed myself, after I thought about my exams there was a lot of stuff I could have said to help my claims but I was an big ball of emotions and cried like a little baby and couldn't think straight. I thought I read somewhere on this site that you could see a copy of the C&P results on myhealthevet but I couldn't find it.
