  1. Tough call, I am with you the QTC exam I had was a joke but if you don't go that might hurt you too. Look at it this way if you go and QTC comes back with some off the wall comment that would hurt BUT if they come back and support the VA docs MAN you are in! i would go. Stillhere
  2. I was rated with DB2 diet only at first in 2003. In 2005 it had gotten worse and I was put on meds so I asked for an increase. At the C&P the examinor took my BP and it was high so the VA stated hypertension secondary to DB2 but 0% but at least it is SC. I did not ask for it they just added it. I have read where they don't like even SC it at all. In answer to your question essential nature sounds like they are saying of course you have it. Now you need to NOD I would think on that issue and ask for SC! Good Luck Stillhere
  3. Man that Roanoke office is fast! Only 3 years! Just kidding of course hope you get the benefits you deserve. Good Luck! Stillhere
  4. thanks, Berta have a visit with my cardio doc next couple of weeks I will bring it up to him. If he say that the DB2 is agravating my sleep apnea which is aggravating my hypertension will that do it? Stillhere
  5. Just got results back from sleep study and confirmed diagnoses of sleep apnea mild-moderate getting fitted for c=pap machine Friday. I wonder why there is no mention in the dB2 training letter about sleep apnea caused by diabetes, or am I just missing it. Seems to be a ton of stuff on the web about how diabetes and hypertension both are nexus with sleep apnea. Am I going to have any trouble claiming sleep apnea after I get the full sheet and machine? Thanks for all your help in the past and for the future. Stillhere
  6. Berta,Star, I am going in for a visit with my PCP tomorrow and I guess/hope she will be able to tell me which type it is. I will post back later. Will be interesting to see if the VA claim I have in now addresses this in some way. Stillhere
  7. John, I called the 800# last week and was told it went to be rated on the 10th of August and would take around 60 days. I had my C&P on July 2nd though. Stillhere
  8. Jessie, I have sent two messages in the past two weeks to the iris email with NO response! The system SSSSSSUCKS! I wish you luck with your son. Stillhere
  9. I called the 800# yesterday trying to find out the status of my claim started April 2nd, 07. The lady I spoke to walked me through screen by screen she was looking at. Claim started april 2nd, c&p requested june, c&p preformed july 2nd, report received and now at raters August 10th. Don't know if she was BSing me or not but I was kind of dumb founded. er speechless! She said should have an answer in 60 days and check 15 days after that if approved. Any one been through that with VA? OH yea anything else I can help you with? Stillhere
  10. Yes it is on all the 800 calls I guess. Stillhere
  11. Jerry, I am waiting for my increase now as we speak. I think yours is a slam dunk for the fishin hole! Should be 100% P&T if not NOD and you will get it. Take care take your meds and exercise if you can. By the way the wife will be eligible for champva too. Stillhere
  12. Berta, Thanks for the information looks to me like QTC should just bring this up when they send the results of my C&P to VARO and my claim should be updated, will be interesting to read thier decision when I finally get it. if you think I need to send them something else I guess I will have to wait until I see my PCP in a couple of weeks. The letter I got from QTC was to make sure and make my PCP aware of it. In answer to your question am I still working depends who you talk to! I am in sales and ever since I have started on this road of diabetes/heart I have been seeing my sales going down. with all the exams, dr's visits and medications. Just don't seem to have the energy or the will and determination like I used to. Before 2003 I was making 6 numbers now I don't even make half that. wife had to go back to work so that helps a great deal.My boss lets me stay on, I think he is hoping I pull out of this rut but who knows. Take care, Stillhere
  13. Went in for a C&P by QTC on July 2nd got certified letter yesterday that said my blood work showed Anemia and high glucose. I am SC for DB2 and secondary heart disease. Does this Anemia stuff figure in here or is it something I have to claim separate. looks like I am falling apart big time. Stillhere "for now"
  14. When I went in for my first cp for the diabetes 2 they gave me a complete once over and exspecially the prick of my feet. When I got my award letter they had given me 10% each foot for PN. Stillhere
  15. tHANKS jAY THAT IS A HECK OF A DIFFERENCE, Did they ever tell you why? anyone else? Thanks, Stillhere
  16. hey Jerry, I am about in the same boat heart wise as you so wish you all the best. I have been faced with financial issue in the past also while waiting for the VA to grant and back pay, what I have found is that if I take out a loan to ease the load and pay it when the VA pays me. It has worked pretty good and has not really cost me that much and has helped the stress factor immensly. Trying to push the VA and getting them to think outside the box is almost next to impossible. Good Luck! Stillhere
  17. Just got the home test machine from the VA contractor named sleep Solutions. Anyone ever done this at home? I have to hook up this machine and sleep with it for 3 nights and then pack it up and send it back for evaluation. The VA a called and asked if I would mind doing it this way as they are really busy and this does the same as going in and staying at the VA overnight. Any replys appreciateded. Stillhere
  18. Berta, Please read my other reply of July 15th and let me know what you think. Thanks, Stillhere
  19. I have given my wife the name of my vso and told her if anything happens to be and I am nothere to go and have a autopsy done. who knows might find that tooth a swallowed long time ago. Stillhere
  20. Berta, They did a great job of connecting the dots. To bad it took the VA a few years to see it that way. I in my case am a firm believer that my DB2 has caused all of my secondary conditions! Stillhere
  21. Hi Berta, I know I have posted this before but can't seem to find it so here goes again. I served Nam 69/70 Danang "Red Beach" I was diagnosed with DB2 on Feb 02 I did not file until May 03 and was awarded to that date. I NOD for an earlier date of when I was diagnosed on 02 and was denied again. I let it drop after that. Is this the correct and if so why? Stillhere
  22. Thanks to all for the replys and suggestions, I guess I will just wait until after the dust settles and if I don't like the decision file a NOD. I have had to do that on all 3 of my claims. Just frustrating they can't seem to get it right the first time! Stillhere
