  1. I have a claim in for increase but would like a copy of my c file. Should I wait uuntill after the decision or go ahead and put in a FOI for the copy. Will this stop/slow down my claim? Thanks for replys, Stillhere
  2. Did you ask for an audit of payments? I have heard you can request that maybe that is what it is. Did your vso ask for it. Just a thought. stillhere
  3. If that satifys you go for it. I know it can fustrating playing their paper game. Hope you don't lose much but remember what the ole sarge used to say "cover yuor butt"! Thanks for your service! Stillhere
  4. Just a thought but you did send the NOD by certified mail with signature confirmation right? If you did then when you do email them I would tell them when it was signed for. I send in all my stuff certified. Good luck, Stillhere
  5. this has always confused me if your BP is say 140/90 and you are controlled my medication is that 10%? If I stop taking my medication I am sure it would go up passed the limit. Anyone else have to deal with this? Elliot, don't mean to hyjack your thread but this answer might help you too. Stillhere
  6. sorry to hear about you brother-in-law that is scarey. I have had two cardio caths, two stents, one heart attack with damage and scheduled for another cardio stress in September. I just keep going and they keep pokkin! Stillhere
  7. I am confused on this one also and have posted it before and people have answered to the best of their ability and I still don't get it but. If I understand it correctly a claim almost any claim the start date is the date of the claim but with DM2 they back dated my brothers 1 year and not mine and I still do not get it. I no this dosen't help you any but just thought I would let you know you are not alone!! Stillhere
  8. Jerryo, You need to calm down if you do that they win big time. Sit down and take a breath and remind yourself that these things take time. I know it seems like they move in a snails pace but at least they do move. Please don't lock and load! Stillhere ( and with ya!)
  9. Chemical stress is no big deal and really helps them see how your heart is doing and what steps they may have to do after that. Take care, Stillhere
  10. Well went ot the CP today and exam dr did not even have me take off my clothes! (damn she was cute too!) Anyhow she just said it was a slam dunk for my heart and diabetes and the VA just were looking to confirm. Hell I was trying to get an increase for my hypertension and PN but when ever I started talking she just cut me off! 10 minutes and I am out of there. OH she did look at my scans from my cardio dr and said there is no question there. Don't know what that meant so now what do I do, put in another request for increase for Hypertension and PN or just wait and see what the VA comes back on this and NOD no wonder the claims are so screwed up. Thanks to all for helping me through this CP I still thing it was a waste of my time. The last CP I had in Sept. 05 I put in for heart problems and they checked me and said nah no problem! Had my first heart attack three weeks later! Stillhere
  11. Finally got the paper work from QTC for the C&P on the 2nd and they had me scheduled for one of their standar stress tests I called and left message to cancel it. Just got a call back and they asked why and I explained that I had just had another stent placed end of March and my cardio dr. did not want me taking another test until Sept. They said fine and would cancel it but they did ask if I would show up for the rest of the exam and I said sure. I plan on sending in all my paper work from my cardio dr. including his last stress test before the stent placement and my treatment records. Do you guys think I did the right thing or will this slow down the process? it looks like things are going so slow anyhow I can just do this exam and then after I have the stress test in Sept. send in those results either way comp goes back to April correct? Thanks all, Stillhere
  12. One other thing and this pretains to all meds the VA is filling by mail. when you see you have only 2 refills left call your primary care nurse and have her put through a new script. Last time it took them 3 weeks because I had let one lapse, so I ran out because I usual call 2 weeks out! Good Luck! Stillhere
  13. Sounds like all of us heart patients are getting strung out down the road. Might be time for a class action suit so some lawyers can make some money and bury us! Stillhere
  14. Strange they told you that it flat out was not available but I am sure they are just trying to cover their own butts. As I said before I had my cardio Dr. write a new script and they filled for the next year but who knows after that. Please let us know how this works out for you and good luck. stillhere
  15. You made me laugh but I guess those were the good ole days, when you could go in and and do two weeks out of a year and just stand by. Not only do I say "God Bless Them" but Thank God they are there for US!! Stillhere
  16. What a crock of BS! I finally got mine after raising a big stink, seems that they only give it to you for 1 year after a stent or heart procedure. Has he had anything that is a year old? If so that is the problem. If you go to their rules plavix is only authorized for 1 year. I had to call my cardio dr. and get them to give me some samples and then fight the va to get them to fill it. I had another stent placed in March so they agreed, but still only for 1 year! Stillhere
  17. I thought I might add this during my 2nd C&P I mentioned another problem I was having and when I got my rating they actually included it back 8 months prior to my CP I did mentioned at the time that I had had the problem for well over a year but hey 8 months is not bad. stillhere
  18. Thanks Pete, hey by the way still waiting for my new BP meds have enough left for 4 days!
  19. I have 60%heart,20% db2 pn 20% total 100% comped at 70% I got the 60% for heart secondary to DB2 by a having A. heart attack and B. private cardio dr. letter. I put in for an increase for hypertension and pn and also had another stent placed in March. My question after reading a few of the horror stories about QTC do I have any chance they will reduce or drop the connection between the DB2 and my heart disease? Anyone have this happen to them? I worked very hard thru appeals to get this where it is today and just wondered if I should drop this all together. I know my PN is worse and is given me the dickens and HPB is now finally controlled by meds after switching me 3 times. This board has been great not only for all the great information but the things you all make us aware of to watch out for. Thanks to all!! Stillhere
  20. As far as getting a copy of the Guide everything that is printed for the gov goes through GPO you might try there and see if they have a archive of the file. Stillhere
  21. I just went through this Plavix BS the va cut me off after 1 year BUT I had another stent placed in March right when I was running out so they filled it again. I had a regular metal stent this time so guess I am good for at least another year??
  22. What is LVEF? I am rated 60% for heart secondary to db2 now. Stillhere
  23. OK update on the 2 appts that QTC wants me to do C&P head to toe exam plus blood work and xrays. No problem, but they had me scheduled for a stress test and I called and told them my cardio dr did not want me doing one until after 6 months from the date of my last stent implant. They said no problem just to make sure and bring all my paper work with me. Whew! I really do not feel comfortable as I mentioned before doing stress test with them and quite honestly very nervious when I do it with my cardio doc. I will post what happens afterward. Stillhere
  24. You are only trying to help but don't get yourself in so deep that it becomes personal. When I came back in 70 after 13 months in Nam no one wanted to talk about it then and I don't talk about it now. My father-law a Korean vet SSGT was the same way but I won't forget one time up at his hunting cabin in george Washington National forest. He had a guest hunter and this guy had all this camo gear and talked about all these recon mission and ranger crap. Well turns out a little while later we found out the gut was just what we called back then a "weekend warrior" and a whole lot of BS. Most of us brothers of Vietnam don't talk about it and when we do we can usual tell the truth from the BS! Take care and help her as Long as you can stand it and if it is getting to you I would do as the others say bow out. stillhere PS. "weekend warrior" I means no disrespect to our fine units serving now.
  25. Nathan, Vike does not appear to be around but I think you are asking if you get rated for sleep apnea would you keep your rateing for insomnia. Hmmm, I would suggest you check the schedule of ratings. Stillhere
