    What an outstanding story. It is absolutely outstanding but I just wonder how many other problems this may have caused this veteran. They still probably owe him twice the amount. At any rate great story and I wish the congressman much success in his plan to prevent this from happening again. Jmack

    Let me make sure that I understand this clearly. If I am 100% P/T and have a SMC claim for a service connect disability, DON'T FILE? Because I may lose my 100%? I respectfully asked that the Elders weigh in on this because I just had a surgery and I am do temporary 100%. Am I to allow the VA to scare me away from what is MY BENEFIT? I would hope not. Jmack

    That is incorrect. An RE-Code (Re-Entry Code) other than "1" is not bad. There are many, many great servicemembers that are discharged with an RE-Code of "3" which could have a variety of meanings, such as "MEDICAL REASONS". I posted before that normally the RE-Code and the narrative reasons for separations supports each other.

    I agree with Manitou, it's difficult to tell about these C&P exams. Just make sure you get a copy of the exam as soon as it becomes available, so that you will have some kinda idea how VA may rate you. A great strategy in planning your next move if needed.     Well I took the advice and called again and asked if a decision had been reached. They again said yes but my file had been selected for some kind of quality control, but they wasn't allowed to tell me the decision. So, maybe I will just wait til that is complete. jmack
