  1. MH stands for Mental Health clinic. Frank
  2. Hello again, I had some testing done today by a private doctor due to my mood disorder increase and my claim for IU. My question is how much weight does the VA give to these tests? Frank
  3. Thanks Sharon, I had my roomie revise the letter according to what you suggested. That makes sense to not play doctor since it's lay evidence. Frank
  4. Thanks Pete, I will get my roommates letter for my IU claim notarized. I figure what's 6 bucks since I get a discount. Frank
  5. VA lost my SMR's once. Found them three weeks later in someone elses file. Only reason I found out is my DAV rep found out about it and told me. Needless to say, I lost some confidence in the VA at that point. Frank
  6. Good morning everyone, I have submitted various buddy letters but none of them have been addressed in any of the decisions. I just wondering since they weren't notarized the VA gives them very little weight or just downright ignores them. Is this true? If I had them notarized would the VA have given them more weight since both parties have to be present when notarized. Maybe the VA thinks that I just typed some stuff up and scribbled a signature on it. Of course I did not do this as this would be fraud but I'm just thinking the VA thinks this since they weren't notarized. Maybe i'm way off on this but i'm just confused why none of the letters in support weren't addressed. What's everyone's thoughts on this? Frank
  7. I'm Guily as charged. Throw the jail key down the drain.... Frank
  8. Get it documented and let SSD know what's going on. Ain't too much else you can do except get a doctor to document in your records what's going on. Frank
  9. Nice one Carly, "any type of employment" is very important. I have seen cases online where the vet was denied since the examiner didn't clarify this and the VA came back and said the veteran isn't precluded from any type of work. Frank
  10. As far as an IMO for unemployability what are some key statements the doctor needs to make to increase the chances of an award? I imagine many private doctors don't know how the VA works so they don't know the necessary statements the VA requires to grant unemployability. I know one is "total social and occupational dysfunction" but what are some other good statements. Thanks, Frank
  11. I had a debt and I refused to pay it since the meds were for something due to my meds I take for my S/C condition. The VA healthcare started taking it out of my check after I refused to pay. I got it all back though after rating increase. Anyone that gets an increase to 50 or above is entitled to free meds for any condition. And if you paid for meds in the past you can get a reimbursement after you reach 50%. Frank
  12. My recommendation is that you backup, reformat and reinstall from scratch. This will remove everything from your system hard disk, including Vista, all applications and data. Then you can reinstall Windows XP cleanly from scratch, reinstall all your applications (which you would do anyway), and restore any data you might need from other disks or your backup. Frank
  13. mom24, You're not weird, just content with what you have and happy. Being happy is what counts most. Congratulations, Frank
  14. yep yep,\ I don't see any reason she would have mentioned "helpless child" unless you had some good news coming to ya. Knowing me I would be camping out by the mailbox. Frank
  15. bigoc, since you don't have stressor documented in service you will probably need buddy statement confirming the stressor(s). Do you keep in touch with anyone you served with that could attest to your claimed stressors? The thing is you can tell your doctors about these all day to their face turns blue but this is all subjective in nature. While the VA will always consider this they normally won't grant unless you have proof of the stressor(s). Just trying to help, Frank
  16. yep yep, I see it.....my bad.......eyes must be foggy along with my brain.....
  17. Just trying to figure out here what the issue is? Constipation or Diarrhea? You stated you have diarrhea 2 to 3 times day but then you say your main issue is constipation. Which is it? Frank
  18. did you have a documented stressor in service? Frank
  19. js, if they already granted secondary for Alcoholism then you have nothing to worry about as far as willful misconduct. Frank
  20. OK, I understand now. I didn't know they rounded that part up. Sorry.... Hey you just might have a CUE if they were supposed to rate it at 50. I would show this to your VSO and see what he/she says about it. Frank
  21. 30+20+10+10 = 50% (54.64) according to VA math. "We have assigned a 50 percent evaluation based on the overall disability picture shown at the VA Mental Health exam." Probably mean all your disabilities COMBINED (overall disability) = 50% Frank
  22. clw, this is from rentalguy. Has some great info for you. Frank http://www.hadit.com/forums/index.php?auto...mp;showentry=28
  23. Yellow, If you can't find that letter go see your VSO and get them to get your C-file and get that letter. Sounds like an important letter. Do your remember getting it and can you remember anything about what was in it? If you don't get a copy somehow better just file an NOD to be on the safe side even if its just submitting a letter indicating your appeal. Frank [ quote name='yelloownumber5' date='Jul 21 2009, 07:22 AM' post='155779'] Hi, Back in 2008 I requested an increased on my Service Conencted GERD. I did list the reasons why and one reason was the GERD is aggravating my Sleep Apnea. I don't remember how I worded this but I'm looking for the paperwork right now. Anyhow, the RO sent a denial for Sleep Apnea dated 11 Sept 2008, it is a concern for me because I do not remember sending an informal claim nor any intent in filing for Sleep Apnea at this time but I will in the future. I will post the verbage of the letter when I find it What should I do. thanks in advance.
  24. Yep, similar situation happened to me. I sought treatment soon after service but they were destroyed 7 years later. I think the 7 year destruction rule is pretty standard but might be different state to state. Frank
