As far as the boat goes....I agree with we that a emergency fund is the most important thing first. But a boat ranks right up there. Look for a boat near the end of the summer, especially if it is as dry this year as it was last year. The price of gas is severely hurting boat prices, too. I picked up my boat last year, at the height of the drought, for $7,000...it is listed in Kelley Blue Book for $15,000. The deals are out there. I am one happy dude. Jim How long does it usually take then to actually pay you for your back pay from the date thet they tell you you won your claim..I still havent heard from the VA and its been almost a month. I did sign up for automatic deposit and my first monthly check will be at my bank this Friday the 30th. I filled out the dependent papers for my husband to receive 11 years of retro and the service manager sent me an email he would start processing it and have a letter to me shortly.
