Opposite Claims Question

I took note of the topic of the hassel of going through the claims process....with the thousands of folks here on Hadit I just wanted to know if anyone else on here, besides me, has had a positive experience with the claims process?

My claim was processed in under a year...I did it all myself...and I received 100% IU, P&T, no further exams req.

I can't be the only one who has had success with a claim.

I'm sorry to hear about your cancer and hope you are doing well. But I am glad to hear that the VA processed your claim in a very timely manner.

Purple- thanks - the cancer was in 2002 and they cut it out and so far it seems as if they got all of it. I'm rated on the residuals and they are as Bronco says "invisible disabilities" to all but me and my loved ones and I understand what Bronco is saying. It seems that a disability quite often means little to most people except the one disabled. "Most" isn't meant to apply to others on this post. A good day to all.

In 2002 I got 100% TDIU P & T (from 70%) in 22 days after walking claim into VARO. I've had long, long waits on other increases, but did this one right to start with.

In 2004 I got service connected for Prostate Caner in 24 days & I mailed that one into VARO.

So it can be done, guess all the stars have to be in alinment or something.

Yes, you are right...it can be done. But it has nothing to do with stars being aligned, or luck, or anything of that sort. It's all about evidence and a thorough claim package. All of the evidence MUST be there to back up what is being asked for...and be there the first time. I'm a strong believer in this as I've also talked to other vets who have been successful with claims and the theme is the same.

I'm so freaking sick of hearing ppl say that I was "lucky" or had "good timing" or any other meaningless cliche'. No. I went through pure hell...I've barely touched on the hell I went through to get where I'm at today. Huge chunks of my life are gone.

I mean....I would sit at work and OD because I was being triggered at work by male co-workers...this is not "lucky" or "good timing".

My experience with the VBA has been bizzare. I still can't follow their logic on my claims and neither can my long time private doctor. It is like you shove good evidence (which is key) into the VA sausage machine and anything can come out the other end. I recently got rated 60% for a vascular problem and I don't know how they came up with that rating. I don't care because it does not affect my compensation rate, but it is not logical.

You know I was just joking. I had the best prepared & complete package that I had ever submitted. For example, on the TDIU Claim I printed the form that they send your last employer & had company complete & included in package. Had new write ups from three shrinks. Included information that I had to retire because of my SC Disability (PTSD). I had been on sick leave for six months.

On Prostate Cancer Claim included doctor notes, lab reports on the 12 biopsies-6 cancerous & quoted the CFR that covers the Herbicide/Agent Orange Claim. Also had been scheduled for radiation by the VA.
