Have anyone on Hadit.com rated for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease for S-C? What questions do the VA doctors asked you and what test do they do on you? Please help a Veteran

I doubt you will get an earlier rating. Your effective date is from the date you filed your claim. You had one year to appeal and you let that lapse. The DVA only granted what you asked for. They rarely give you ratings for issues you don't ask for.

I understand this is your opinion. My earlier claim did not ask for acid reflux or IBS because I did not know what it was at the time. It asked for a stomach condition that was diagnosed by my PCP at the time which was IBS, VA went on my SMR which said I was diagnosed with gastritis or an ulcer. VA requested and received evidence from my PCP doctor diagnosing me with IBS at the time of the rating but low balled me to acid reflux. I had/have both the acid reflux and IBS and the reg. states disability will be granted to the predominant issue. Since I was diagnosed and treated for IBS, I should have been awarded It. Also BVA has already remanded my claim and told the RO to reconsider the evidence. Please remember when giving your opinion that you do not know all the facts to the situation and state that it is your opinion. With this information your opinion can still be wrong, I have my files and I read the reg. you can read the reg. but you don't have my file and my claim to get a clear opinion. I understand that I had one year and I let it lapse, which is on me, but when I opened and won my claim for IBS and VA awarded me an increase. It change everything, the condition was already claimed for as a stomach condition earlier. I have proof that VA requested my diagnoses from my PCP after the military and received the information in my records so it gave the stomach condition a name (IBS) not acid reflux prior to my award for acid reflux. Since all this was date stamped prior to award of GERD I think it will be hard for VA to deny my EED. Bottom line for me is please keep your opinion to yourself. I will go all the way with this, I would understand if VA did not have this information but they logged it all in and when I got my copy of my records from the doctor, I knew I was right.
